Under the immediate direction of the Lead person and Rail Distribution Manager, the Equipment Operator is responsible for operating mobile equipment while moving raw materials from train to stockpile and loading finished products. Additional responsibilities include maintaining roadways and loading areas for designated business unit.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Operates train engines and controls to transport materials from one station to another
  • Evaluates and recommends track, equipment, and locomotive improvements to improve efficiency, capability, and yield
  • Performs preventative maintenance and prepares technical reports to document issues
  • Works under the moderate direction of senior personnel in the functional area
  • Performs track, equipment, and locomotive failure analysis on an as needed basis
  • In addition to the primary responsibilities outlined, the successful candidate may be expected to take on other tasks and assignments as required, including but not limited to duties outside the typical scope of the role to support overall team operations and organizational needs. Flexibility and adaptability to evolving job demands are essential.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education Details
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience

Minimum Experience Required
  • 1+ year related experience
