Alice & Bob

Quantum Simulation Algorithms Researcher - US

$140,000 – $180,000 per year

TLDR

Define the path to real-world applications for fault-tolerant quantum computing while collaborating with scientific partners on groundbreaking projects.

Alice & Bob is developing the first universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer to solve the world’s hardest problems. The quantum computer we envision building is based on a new kind of superconducting qubit: the Schrödinger cat qubit 🐈‍⬛. In comparison to other superconducting platforms, cat qubits have the astonishing ability to implement quantum error correction autonomously!   We're a diverse team of 200+ brilliant minds from over 30 countries united by a single goal: to revolutionise computing with a practical fault-tolerant quantum machine. Are you ready to take on unprecedented challenges and contribute to revolutionising technology? Join us, and let's shape the future of quantum computing together! As a Quantum Algorithms Scientist, you will define the path to real-world applications for fault-tolerant quantum computing. You will work with our scientific partners to develop applications solvable with a few hundred logical qubits.  Responsibilities:
  • Develop novel quantum algorithms
  • Optimize the implementation of quantum algorithms to our architecture, and challenge it
  • Work on the first unchallenged quantum advantage (as soon as Alice & Bob's hardware becomes available)
  • Contribute to scientific collaborations with both academic institutions and industry partners
  • Stay up-to-date with the scientific literature for quantum algorithms in quantum simulation
  • Requirements:
  • A PhD or 3+ years research experience in quantum algorithms
  • Experience with Fault-tolerance
  • Successful track-record of driving research initiatives and solid publication portfolio
  • Professional-level English proficiency, both written and spoken
  • Nice to have:
  • Experience in quantum simulation, ideally condensed matter physics
  • Expertise in low-level subroutines for quantum simulation
  • Understanding of fault-tolerant compilation and/or error correction
  • Experience with software design and best practices
  • Benefits:

    - Our success is your success : own it with our BSPCE plan
    - Turn your ideas into patents – and (competitive) patent bonuses
    - Healthcare: (Health, vision, dental insurance)
    - 401k - Retirement plan
    - Training budget for each employee
    - Parental leave & parental plan
    - PTO: 20 days + 11 federal days
    - Unlimited unpaid jury duty + time to protest or vote
