ABOUT THE ROLE
The quantitative trading analyst is part of a team reporting into the data science organization, primarily working on topics related to sportsbook pricing, risk, and operations. This is a unique role at the intersection of analytics, technical development, and business operations. The role will interface with stakeholders in bookmaking operations and commercial teams while collaborating with peers on the data science, data engineering, and BI teams to build technical solutions for the sportsbook business at LeoVegas.
YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Analyze large betting and odds datasets to identify trends and predictive signals
Develop and deploy statistical and predictive models for the domains of pricing, risk management, and player evaluation
Drive the usage of developed solutions into day-to-day usage throughout the sportsbook business, with a focus on automation and scalability
Identify opportunities for optimization and improvement in the sportsbook operation and financial P&L, and take initiative to propose solutions to address them
Collaborate effectively with technical and business teams, translating complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations
OUR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
Essential
Research-oriented mindset, with the ability to come up with creative solutions to open-ended technical problems
Foundational knowledge of probability and statistics
Advanced experience using spreadsheets (Excel) for data analysis
Experience with SQL (any dialect or database) as part of frequent responsibilities
Experience with any scripting language used for data analysis, preferably Python
Nice to have
Previous knowledge in sports, gambling, gaming, or financial industries
Background in data science, data engineering, and/or general software engineering
