The Opportunity:



BluMetric is seeking a Quality Manager to lead and strengthen quality assurance across our engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain operations. Reporting to the Director of WaterTech Operations, this role combines hands-on technical work with program-level quality oversight, ensuring full compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and defense-related standards.

 

The successful candidate will act as a key liaison between internal teams, suppliers, and customers driving continuous improvement, managing audits, and ensuring that all products and processes meet exacting specifications for military and industrial programs.

 

Job Responsibilities:


Quality Leadership & Oversight

 

  • Lead and manage all incoming and outgoing parts and systems quality inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015, AS9100, and customer-specific standards.
  • Oversee the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring ongoing effectiveness and improvement.
  • Lead internal and supplier audits (new and recurring) and ensure timely corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement program-specific quality plans and inspection/test strategies.
  • Conduct and review ECOs, ECRs, NCRs, and other change control documentation.
  • Support and maintain compliance with FAA/TCCA/EASA and defense program requirements.


Supplier & Manufacturing Quality

 

  • Perform supplier evaluations, audits, and First Article Inspections (AS9102).
  • Partner with supply chain and production teams to resolve non-conformance issues.
  • Manage supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance to ensure product reliability.
  • Support vendor RMAs and corrective action follow-up to prevent recurring issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and drive CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions).


Continuous Improvement & Data Analysis

 

  • Use analytical tools (SPC, FMEA, DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, APQP) to identify and mitigate quality risks.
  • Analyze performance data to identify trends, recurring defects, and improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in and lead Failure Review Board (FRB) and Corrective Action Board (CAB) meetings.
  • Support strategic initiatives to improve supplier acceptance rates, reduce cost of poor quality, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with engineering, program management, and manufacturing on design and process improvements.


Documentation & Compliance

 

  • Maintain quality records and documentation within the QMS.
  • Ensure accurate configuration management and documentation control throughout product lifecycle.
  • Prepare for and support external, customer, and regulatory audits.

 

Key Qualifications, Education, and Skills:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in quality engineering or quality management roles, preferably in aerospace, defense, or industrial sectors.
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, AS9100, FAA/TCCA/EASA standards.
  • Demonstrated experience with supplier quality, audits, and inspection programs.
  • Hands-on experience with ECO/ECR/NCR processes and configuration management.
  • Familiarity with GD&T, SPC, and statistical analysis tools (e.g., T-tests, Gage R&R).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software systems.
  • Certifications such as ASQ CQE, Lean Six Sigma, or PMP are an asset.
  • Must have or be eligible to obtain Secret level clearance.

Salary
CAD $75,000 – CAD $85,000 per year
