We're headquartered in Denver, Colorado and we have offices and employees around the globe. We serve the largest, most demanding enterprises worldwide, including more than half of the Fortune 100. At Ping Identity, we're changing the way people and businesses think about cybersecurity, digital experiences, and identity and access management.

We’re looking for a Software Quality Engineer II who is passionate about building reliable, accessible, and well-tested user interfaces. You’ll collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and UX designers to strengthen our automation coverage, write high-quality Gherkin (BDD) scenarios, and contribute to the Cypress-based test frameworks that support our shared UI.

If you enjoy solving problems through automation, care deeply about user experience and testability, and thrive in highly collaborative engineering environments, we’d love to meet you.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Collaborate with developers and product managers to refine requirements and ensure features are testable from day one
  • Create and maintain clear, reusable Gherkin (BDD) scenarios that express intended behavior and integrate into our Cypress-based automation suite
  • Build, enhance, and review automated tests for UI flows, components, and APIs
  • Participate in component and feature design reviews, advocating for testability, accessibility, and consistent user experience
  • Ensure robust cross-browser and responsive testing for customer-facing UIs
  • Assist in implementing accessibility testing workflows using tools like axe-core or Lighthouse
  • Contribute to the continuous evolution of our test frameworks and tools
  • Participate in release readiness activities and provide thoughtful risk assessments
  • Review developer-authored tests and collaborate to ensure high-quality automation across the team
  • Help elevate quality practices within the team by sharing learnings, contributing documentation, and mentoring junior QEs or developers contributing tests

If you find yourself checking off most of the below, this role could be a great fit:

  • 5+ years of experience testing production-scale web applications
  • Hands-on experience with Cypress or similar UI automation frameworks (Playwright, Selenium, WebdriverIO)
  • Experience writing Gherkin (Given/When/Then) scenarios as part of BDD workflows
  • Comfort working with JavaScript in the context of UI automation
  • Familiarity testing modern front-end applications (React, Vue, Angular, or Svelte)
  • Experience planning and executing cross-browser and responsive testing
  • Exposure to accessibility testing approaches (keyboard navigation, focus management, semantics) and tools
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, UX, and product teams
  • A proactive mindset and enthusiasm for learning new tools, frameworks, and testing patterns

Nice To Have:

  • Experience with visual regression tools (Percy, Chromatic, Applitools, etc.)
  • Familiarity with accessibility-focused tooling (axe-core, pa11y, Storybook accessibility add-ons)
  • Experience with BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or other cross-browser cloud platforms
  • Understanding of authentication and authorization concepts
  • Experience working on distributed teams
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum workflows
  • Knowledge of security testing concepts or OWASP practices
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud platforms

Why You’ll Love Working Here:

  • Be part of an outstanding, collaborative team and work alongside exceptional engineers and product experts.
  • Build and deliver solutions using the latest web technologies and frameworks.
  • Deepen your expertise in authentication and authorization protocols, and gain hands-on experience in identity and access management (IAM) at enterprise scale.
  • Help shape the future of our developer experience — you’ll have the opportunity to influence strategy, build impactful solutions, and bring our vision for a best-in-class web platform to life.
