Job Summary

The QC Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating and directing the Quality program in the areas of workplace and product quality to ensure continuous production of products that are consistent with the established Company standards.   The QC Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day activities of the Quality team providing guidance and support to the QC Technicians.  The incumbent will work closely with the site Technical Manager as well as Corporate Quality Team to ensure alignment with Company requirements.

Principal Responsibilities

The following are key principle accountabilities, but are not limited to:

  • Maintains a safe working environment for all employees by enforcing Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and ensuring training is provided where required.
  • Promotes respect, diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace through open and tactful communication, transparency, and enforcing Company policies.
  • Participates and directs the performing of spot inspections by random sampling in order to ensure product meets all established standards, assembly and packing requirements and validates the quality and conformity of all finished products including calibration and accuracy of measurements.
  • Conducts various product conformance tests and maintains records of all test results. 
  • Conducts tests on new products, analyzes results and documents following the same process as spot inspections.
  • Implements and maintains all aspects of ISO 9001:2015.
  • Maintains up to date Quality System records for internal and external auditing purposes.
  • Schedules quarterly internal audits to be completed.  Coordinates internal auditing training when necessary for other team members.
  • Provides training to employees on the understanding, application and usage of equipment and systems as it relates to quality output.
  • Performs necessary administrative tasks related to the position.
  • May be required to function in other capacities.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Completion of a degree or certificate in Engineering, Quality or related field or, equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a Quality position, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of health, safety and environmental practices in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge and ability to understand the process of manufacturing equipment.
  • Able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong solution-focused approach, capability to implement, and persistence to follow-up activities to ensure sustainability and quality.
  • Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Suite of products to analyze data and trends.
