Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Role Overview: We are seeking a meticulous and proactive QA Specialist to join our team and support the successful implementation of enterprise software solutions within the insurance sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software quality assurance practices, testing methodologies, and insurance business processes. This role is critical to ensuring that delivered solutions meet business requirements, perform reliably, and comply with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and project managers to understand functional and technical requirements. 
  • Develop, document, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for insurance software systems.
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT) across web and backend systems.
  • Validate system workflows related to insurance operations (e.g., policy administration, claims processing, underwriting, billing).
  • Ensure compliance with QA standards and best practices throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Assist in the creation of test data and environments simulating insurance scenarios.
  • Provide QA support during production deployments and post-release validation.

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 
  • 3+ years of QA experience in software implementation projects. 
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes. 
  • Prior experience working on projects in the insurance industry (property & casualty, life, health, etc.). 
  • Experience with testing tools like JIRA, TestRail, HP ALM, or similar. 
  • Knowledge of relational databases and ability to write basic SQL queries for data validation. 
  • Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI) is a plus. 
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.
