As a QA Engineering Intern for the Customer Portals team, you will help ensure that our clients have a seamless and reliable experience when interacting with Zefr’s products. Success in this role involves identifying potential user-facing issues before they reach production and validating that the data displayed in our portals is accurate. You will play a vital role in the engineering ecosystem by bridging the gap between complex data processing and the final user interface, helping the team maintain high deployment velocity with confidence.
Build and Execute automated test cases to verify the functionality, usability, and visual integrity of customer-facing web applications.
Validate API responses to ensure the data being sent to our portals is accurate, structured correctly, and performing efficiently.
Perform data quality checks by writing Python scripts and SQL queries to compare the information displayed on the UI against the underlying database records.
Document clear, reproducible bug reports in our tracking system to help developers identify and resolve technical issues quickly.
Collaborate with senior QA engineers to maintain and extend automated UI test suites using Playwright framework.
Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and daily stand-ups, to understand feature requirements and provide input on testability.
Assist in regression testing during release cycles to ensure new updates do not negatively impact existing portal functionality.
Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
Experience: Previous internship experience or academic project work involving software testing, web development, or data analysis (0–1 years of experience).
Programming Skills: Foundational knowledge of Python or another scripting language, with an interest in learning automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, or PyTest).
Database Skills: Basic proficiency in SQL for data retrieval and verification.
Technical Familiarity: Understanding of how web applications work, including basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and how browsers interact with APIs (JSON/REST).
Analytical Mindset: Strong attention to detail and a natural curiosity for "breaking" software to find edge cases.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively describe technical issues to cross-functional team members.
Professionalism: A proactive learner who takes initiative to ask questions and seeks to understand the "why" behind product features.
The anticipated compensation for this position is between $25 and $30 per hour. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
