Position Overview: The Quality Control (QC) Engineer will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring quality control activities across fabrication and manufacturing projects related to fired equipment and heavy engineering systems. The role ensures full compliance with applicable international codes, client specifications, and Zeeco’s quality management systems. This position is well suited for professionals with 5–10 years of hands-on QC experience in fired equipment, pressure parts, heavy fabrication, process equipment, or oil & gas projects. Key Responsibilities - Quality Planning & Documentation
  • Interpret and apply international and national codes and standards such as ASTM, ASME, EN, ISO, IS, IBR, and EIL.
  • Prepare, review, and obtain approval for Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs), QC procedures, and weld maps.
  • Review and approve WPS / PQR documentation for pressure vessels, stacks, ducts, and structural components.
  • Review engineering drawings to verify material specifications, heat treatment requirements, and design data; ensure latest revisions are used for BOMs and procurement.
  • Prepare Technical Delivery Conditions (TDCs) aligned with BOMs, client requirements, and project specifications.
  • Develop, review, and update SOPs and QMS documentation as required.
  • Key Responsibilities - Inspection & Execution
  • Conduct kick-off meetings and pre-inspection meetings with clients, consultants, and suppliers.
  • Coordinate and liaise with ASME Authorized Inspectors, Third-Party Inspection Agencies (TPIAs), and clients.
  • Perform inspections at all stages of fabrication, including: Raw material inspection , In-process and stage inspections, Welding and NDE coordination, PWHT and hydrotesting, Final visual, dimensional, and painting inspections.
  • Coordinate raw material inspections at vendor premises, review inspection reports and MTCs, issue Inspection Release Notes (IRNs), and authorize material dispatch.
  • Key Responsibilities: Nonconformance & Continuous Improvement
  • Manage the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) system, including issuance, evaluation, closure, and documentation.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Investigate customer complaints and feedback, ensuring effective corrective measures and lessons learned.
  • Analyze quality trends and recurring issues to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Key Responsibilities: Collaboration & Communication
  • Maintain comprehensive quality records, including inspection reports, test results, and photographic documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, production, and project teams to meet quality and delivery objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, clients, inspectors, and external agencies through clear written and verbal communication.
  • Qualifications & Other Requirements:
  • B.E. or Diploma in Mechanical, Metallurgy, or Production Engineering.
  • ASNT Level II certification in RT, UT, PT, and/or MPI (preferred).
  • Welding certifications such as CSWIP or AWS (preferred).
  • Painting and coating certifications including SSPC, NACE, or BGAS (preferred).
  • Prior quality control experience in fabrication, fired equipment, pressure parts, heavy engineering, or oil & gas projects.
  • Willingness to travel for vendor inspections and project requirements, including outstation and overnight stays.
  • Strong attention to detail with sound analytical skills and a structured, methodical approach to problem solving.
