About the role: Lumafield is looking for a QA Test Engineer to help ensure the quality and reliability of our cutting-edge, cloud-based web application Voyager. This is a critical, hands-on role where you will implement and iterate on the Voyager QA strategy—blending manual exploratory testing with the development of robust automation testing—to deliver a seamless, high-quality experience to the users who rely on our platform for complex industrial inspection. What you'll do:
  • Take ownership of our cloud software release testing and validation processes
  • Work closely with software developers to find and address bugs
  • Manually run tests where necessary in order to validate new features and understand how better to automate them
  • Collaborate with software and product leadership in order to understand testing needs and turn them into actionable test plans
  • Develop automated integration tests against test plans, utilizing test frameworks such as Playwright to improve consistency and speed of tests
  • Coordinate with external QA resources to improve test coverage across the application
  • About you:
  • Enjoy working as a member of a software team spanning a large tech stack where we’re constantly learning new technologies as we push the limits of what’s possible
  • Find satisfaction in exploring edge cases and trying to break things
  • Are excited to learn more about our the ins and outs of the Voyager application and our users’ needs through integrating with team members and helping to meet their testing goals
  • Can reason about complex systems and help define rigorous test plans which can identify regressions
  • Are highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Bonus points for:
  • Experience as a member of a quality assurance team
  • A formal training in computer science
