We are seeking an experienced QA Developer Engineer with deep networking expertise and good Python development skills to ensure our cloud networking products meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and reliability. 

You will build and maintain Python-based automated test frameworks, design and execute functional/regression/performance tests, perform packet- and protocol-level troubleshooting, and integrate tests into CI/CD while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.

Tasks

  • Design and build Python-based automated tests for SDN/VNF-related features of IONOS Cloud.
  • Plan, author, and execute functional, regression, scale, and performance tests.
  • Build reproducible network topologies and define traffic profiles to validate data/control planes.
  • Troubleshoot at packet/protocol level, analyze logs/metrics, and drive root cause with developers.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines with reliable reporting and artifacts.
  • Document test plans/cases and report defects.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in software/QA automation, including 1+ focused on networking/SDN/NFV.
  • Good production-quality Python (pytest, clean code, packaging, async/concurrency) and solid Git workflows.
  • Good knowledge of Linux, Networking, TCP/IP protocol family, SDN and VNF technologies.
  • Proficient in using GIT for version control, including command-line operations, branch management, and repository handling.
  • Good knowledge of cloud computing, including cloud infrastructure and platform services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, IONOS Cloud) and cloud-based software (e.g., IaaS, PaaS, or SaaS).
