Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Level One Software Engineer (Python) to support mission-critical systems for a Federal agency in Fort Meade, Maryland. The candidate will work within a highly classified environment, contributing to the development and maintenance of Python-based applications under the direction of senior engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and maintain Python scripts and applications to support mission requirements.

• Assist with debugging, testing, and documenting software components.

• Collaborate with senior engineers, analysts, and technical leads to implement robust software solutions.

• Participate in code reviews and adhere to secure coding standards.

• Support integration, deployment, and troubleshooting of software in classified environments.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Python programming.

• Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

• Experience with version control tools (e.g., Git).

• Basic knowledge of secure coding practices and operating within secure or government environments.

• Strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to follow technical guidance.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Experience: 2-4 years of hands-on software development experience.

• Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph (mandatory).

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant certifications such as Python Institute, CompTIA Security+, or similar credentials.

• Exposure to secure coding concepts or federal IT security standards.
