As a Purchasing Manager you are a key part of the Operations Team and part of the Global Supply Chain Team. A key part of your role is to implement processes and best practices related to managing inventory, reducing E&O, improving on time delivery, supplier relationships, and overall supplier performance. This will require managing and coaching the Taiwan Purchasing Team, driving supplier improvement programs, procuring new items, implementing material management processes and procedures with key suppliers, and identifying/qualifying new suppliers.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

I. Team Leadership & Process Management:

  • Manage and coach the Taiwan Purchasing Team, ensuring accountability and driving results.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Purchasing and Logistics functions within the Taiwan office
  • Implement processes and best practices related to material management, inventory control, and reducing Excess & Obsolete (E&O) stock.
  • Support Sales and Operations Planning and interpret outputs as they relate to purchasing, supply planning, and supplier capacity.
  • Foster an open and transparent culture, making decisions that favor high quality and low costs wherever possible.

II. Planning, Execution & Control:

  • Plan: Identify key data points (sales orders, forecasts, supplier capacity, planning settings) to optimize material flow, manage customer expectations, and mitigate supply risk.
  • Execute: Support procurement activities including New Product Introduction (NPI) and  Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
  • Monitor: Manage material planning for incoming shipments; monitor inventory and sales orders to make adjustments based on forecast changes.
  • Control: Support key account projects and improve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as inventory levels, customer fill rate, slow-moving products, supplier on-time delivery, and year-over-year cost reduction targets (e.g., PPV).
  • Risk Management: Develop and execute mitigation strategies for identified supply chain risks, including geopolitical, financial, and single-source dependencies.

III. Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Manage supplier relationships locally and globally to maintain/improve product pricing and ensure timely shipments.
  • Clearly communicate changes to schedules and expectations to suppliers to drive results.
  • Identify and qualify new suppliers and procure new items.
  • Drive supplier improvement programs to reduce lead times and improve overall delivery performance.

IV. Quality Assurance & Compliance:

  • Support quality standards (ISO) and apply LEAN methodology to processes.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve supplier quality in all processes.
  • Exhibit a strong eye for detail and a sense of urgency when dealing with multiple suppliers and global offices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Logistics or related field.
  • 10-12 years of supply chain experience coupled with at least 5 years of direct employee management experience.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, JDE, Oracle, etc.) and MRP/DDMRP related to procurement.
  • Knowledge of CM/ODM/OEM/COTS, price negotiations, and purchase order creation and management
  • Experience and knowledge with computer hardware manufacturing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; organized with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; able to manage time well in an environment with shifting priorities.
  • An affinity with computer hardware and experience in a fast-paced electronics environment.

Benefits

The salary range for this role is $1,800,000 to $2,400,000 TWD annually. We determine final compensation based on discussions with applicants and their experience in similar roles.
