PURCHASING ASSOCIATE-3RD SHIFT

Purchasing Assistant – JBS USA Food Company Souderton, PA

Primary Role:

Support plant operations by managing inventory of parts, materials, and PPE inventory; processing requisitions, cycle counts; and assisting Purchasing Lead & Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

• Conduct daily and cyclical inventory counts.
• Verify on-hand inventory and incoming shipments.
• Maintain accurate records and proper labeling of materials.

Material Handling:

• Receive, issue, and deliver parts and materials.
• Operate a forklift for unloading and storage.
• Prepare materials for return or repair.

Documentation & Data Entry:

• Post receivers and issue slips in SAP.
• File paperwork and slips in numerical sequence.
• Locate parts and materials in the database for maintenance and other departments.

Cross Training:

• Provide support across purchasing areas including packaging and office operations.

5S Standards Commitment:

• Maintain a clean and organized work area by applying 5S principles: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain.
• Actively contribute to the Standardize and Sustain phases to embed these practices into daily routines, promoting safety and operational excellence.

Additional Duties:

• Assist with special projects and audits.
• Support other departments during peak times or absences.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist in training new team members and provide cross-functional support.
• All other duties assigned.

Requirements:

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with a dependable work ethic.
• Excellent computer skills:
• SAP experience preferred
• Microsoft Excel required
• Ability to work in a fast pace environment.
• Comfortable with physical tasks and forklift operation.
