We are looking for a hands-on Operational Purchaser to support our day-to-day procurement activities within the supply chain organization. In this role, you will be responsible for executing purchase orders, managing order confirmations and deliveries, and ensuring timely material availability for production and fulfillment. You will work closely with suppliers, logistics, and internal stakeholders to resolve shortages, delays, and discrepancies, while maintaining accurate data and monitoring operational KPIs. Responsibilities and Duties

  • Execute and manage day-to-day purchasing activities, including purchase order creation, order tracking, and delivery follow-up
  • Ensure material availability by coordinating closely with suppliers, production, logistics, and planning
  • Monitor order confirmations, delivery dates, and quantities, and proactively resolve delays, shortages, and discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and master data in the ERP system and support inventory control activities
  • Prepare and review operational reports and KPIs (e.g. on-time delivery, backlog, inventory levels)
  • Act as the first point of contact for operational escalations and supply disruptions, driving timely and pragmatic solutions
  • Support continuous improvement of purchasing processes, tools, and workflows in collaboration with the wider supply chain team
  • Actively support daily operations and contribute to cross-functional initiatives and improvement projects

Qualifications and Skills

  • 3–6+ years of hands-on operational purchasing or procurement experience, preferably within electronics, EMS, or hardware manufacturing environments
  • Proven experience sourcing and purchasing electronic components (e.g., PCBs, semiconductors, connectors, cables, electromechanical parts, EMS services)
  • Strong understanding of electronics supply chains, including lead times, lifecycle risks, obsolescence management, and allocation scenarios
  • Experience managing daily order execution, expediting, shortage resolution, and supplier communication in a fast-paced production environment
  • Solid knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Netsuite or similar) and high data accuracy in master data and order management
  • Experience working closely with production, logistics, and planning teams to ensure uninterrupted operations
  • Ability to read and interpret BOMs, technical drawings, and part specifications
  • Strong supplier management skills with a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset
  • Comfortable handling escalations, negotiating delivery improvements, and driving recovery plans
  • Structured, detail-oriented, and highly reliable with strong ownership mentality
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to track and improve KPIs (OTD, backlog, stock levels, shortages)
  • Fluent in German and English (spoken and written)
  • Team-oriented with a structured, proactive working style and clear communication skills
