About the Role

We are recruiting an experienced Senior Psychologist to work across two specialist Children’s Sexual Exploitation (CSE) residential homes in the North East.

This senior clinical role is ideal for a psychologist who wants to use their expertise to create meaningful, lasting change for children and young people who have experienced sexual trauma, abuse and exploitation, alongside complex developmental trauma, neurodevelopmental conditions and SEMH needs.

Working as part of a highly developed multidisciplinary clinical team, you will provide clinical leadership, formulation and therapeutic direction, ensuring psychologically informed care is embedded throughout both living and learning environments. The role offers above‑NHS salary levels, strong supervision, and genuine opportunities for clinical development and leadership.


Responsibilities

In this Senior Psychologist role, you will:

  • Lead high‑quality psychological assessment, formulation and intervention for children and young people with complex trauma histories
  • Provide specialist input where there is sexual trauma, abuse and/or CSE (desirable)
  • Offer consultation and clinical leadership to residential and education teams
  • Embed trauma‑informed and psychologically informed practice across residential settings
  • Deliver training, workshops and reflective practice to staff teams
  • Support and supervise colleagues within a multidisciplinary clinical service
  • Work collaboratively with external professionals, families and local authorities
  • Ensure therapeutic plans are child‑centred, evidence‑based and outcome‑focused

You will have the autonomy and senior clinical support to work creatively while making a real strategic impact.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential / Minimum Requirements

  • HCPC registered Clinical, Educational, Forensic or Counselling Psychologist
  • Significant experience working with children and young people with complex needs
  • Strong skills in assessment, formulation and delivery of psychological interventions
  • Experience supporting and guiding the team around a child or young person
  • Confident in providing consultation, training and clinical leadership
  • Full UK driving licence (travel between sites required)

Desirable

  • Experience working with sexual trauma, abuse and/or CSE
  • Experience in residential care or specialist therapeutic settings
  • Background in supervision and supporting the development of other clinicians
