Job Overview

The Protein Assembly Technician will support the organization by overseeing the day-to-day tasks and administrative needs of business operations. The responsibilities include completing various administrative tasks, performing lab functions, and adhering to the organization’s policies and standards. This position works with various departments across the organization to ensure all administrative and operational tasks are completed as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Protein fulfillment:
  • Utilize Labguru for appropriate lot selection.
  • Proper labeling of ready-to-ship vials and OEM’s.
  • Accurately combo/aliquot purified protein solutions into appropriate vials or storage containers according to established work instructions.
  • Maintain detailed, and timely records of all laboratory work, including aliquoting volumes, lot numbers, and dilution calculations.
  • Organize protein inventory, ensuring proper labeling, storage (e.g., at specific temperatures), and tracking within Labguru after aliquoting.
  • Lyophilization and resuspension of necessary proteins.
  • Performs aliquots in a laminar flow hood for sterile samples.

• Warehouse duties:

• • Maintain freezer logs to ensure accurate protein inventory in stores.
  • Ensures all new bulk protein lots that are transferred to inventory are organized accurately.
  • Prepare sample vials for internal departments as requested.
  • Keeps a clean, organized, and maintained environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Associate degree in business or science required, bachelor’s degree in business or science is preferred.
• 1-2 years of direct lab experience including aliquoting, dilutions, and lyophilizing required.
• Logistics and shipping experience in a biotech company preferred.
• Must have excellent time management skills with close attention to details.

• Must be able to lift 50lb and stand on feet for long periods.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
