Protection & Controls Field Technician (Omicron/Doble test )

TLDR

Perform advanced relay testing at high-voltage substations with opportunities for extensive travel and hands-on experience in critical electrical systems.

Required Qualifications
(Bold = mandatory skills/experience)

5–10 years of hands-on experience testing medium/high-voltage electrical systems.

Strong expertise in protective relays: SEL, Basler, Beckwith, GE.

Proficiency with Omicron/Doble test sets and associated software: ENOSERV RTS, Test Universe, AcSELerator.

Ability to travel up to 85% and work long field days.

Ability to lift 50+ lbs.

Valid driver's license and insurable MVR record.

Must pass drug test, background check, and MVR screening.

Minimum education: Associate Degree (Electrical-related preferred).

Key Responsibilities

Test and commission Protection & Control (P&C) systems at high-voltage substations (15 kV–500 kV).

Perform advanced relay testing using Omicron or Doble test equipment (SEL & GE relays).

Interpret and work from electrical drawings, schematics, and one-line diagrams.

Support project leads, follow strict safety protocols, and maintain accurate documentation.

Complete field reports, timecards, and expense logs.

Ensure compliance with NETA, IEEE, and NFPA standards.
