The Property Manager is responsible for the effective and efficient oversight of facility services for UHN owned assets and externally leased spaces. UHN owns and operates assets encompassing 8M sq.ft. The role is responsible for the oversight of approx. 550,000 square feet of owned assets and leased space from external Landlords for the use of office space.

This role ensures high-quality service delivery through proactive contract management, operational planning, financial stewardship, and stakeholder collaboration to support UHN’s strategic and operational goals.

The responsibilities include:

  • Oversee daily operations and third-party management contracts for UHN-owned assets, acting as the primary facility contact between UHN and the contracted Facility Management company.
  • Assist in the daily operation of externally leased spaces by working with landlords on operational matters and ensuring compliance with lease performance standards.
  • Management of residential rental houses in collaboration with contracted Property Management company.
  • Act as the primary contact for UHN user groups service needs with best in class customer service, stream lining processes, and preparing communications as required.
  • Consulting with contacts regarding building improvement/alteration requirements and cost estimates. Participation in Capital planning.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to plan and coordinate activities affecting the assets, minimizing disruptions to operations and coordinating accommodations as required.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and lead quality improvement and service evaluation initiatives in alignment with departmental and UHN standards.
  • Manage vendor inspections to ensure compliance with contract terms and performance standards; coordinate and oversee contract renewals and RFPs. Complete routine inspections of the Property Services areas to ensure adherence to UHN standards.
  • Partner with the Finance Manager to manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and assist in ensuring up to date payables at all sites.
  • Other duties as required.
  • At minimum, completion of a Bachelor’s degree or College diploma required.
  • At minimum, 5 years practical and related experience in the Real Estate, Project Management or Facility Management.
  • Experience working in Hospital or healthcare environments is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to use tact and sound judgment when interacting with diverse stakeholders.
  • A project management mindset, with the ability to plan, coordinate, and execute facility-related projects, ensuring deadlines, resources, and stakeholder expectations are met.
  • Knowledge of Landlord Tenant Act would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of Retail Lease Administration and Property Management Software would be an asset.
