ProofPoint Engineer

We are seeking an experienced ProofPoint Engineer to join our team, specializing in email security solutions across enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Proofpoint products, email security protocols, and policy management, with hands-on experience in both on-prem and cloud deployments.

Requirements

• Configure, manage, and support Proofpoint Email Security solutions, including Proofpoint POD and on-premise environments.

• Design, create, and optimize rules and policies for inbound and outbound email traffic to improve security posture and mitigate threats.

• Manage and monitor SMTP, M365 Defender, and related email security applications.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to quarantined emails and ensure efficient operation of Proofpoint Secure Email Relay (SER).

• Collaborate with security teams to develop best practices, monitor threat trends, and implement improvements.

• Provide incident response support related to email security events.

• Generate regular reports on email security performance and threat landscape.

• Participate in on-call rotations as required.

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience working with email security solutions, including:

  • Proofpoint (POD and/or on-prem)

  • SMTP

  • M365 Defender

• Proven experience creating rules, policies, and filters for inbound email protection.

• Strong understanding of quarantined email management and Proofpoint SER.

• Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant Proofpoint certifications.

• Experience with additional email security platforms or cloud security tools.

• Knowledge of scripting (PowerShell, Python) for automation.
