Job Summary

We are looking for a Prompt Engineer to design, test, and optimize prompts and workflows for large language models (LLMs). The role focuses on improving the accuracy, reliability, and usefulness of AI-generated outputs across business, technical, and customer-facing use cases. You will work closely with product, engineering, data, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective AI interactions.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Design, write, and iterate prompts for large language models to achieve consistent and high-quality outputs
• Develop prompt frameworks, templates, and reusable patterns for different use cases (classification, summarization, extraction, reasoning, generation)
• Test and evaluate model responses, identifying failure cases, bias, hallucinations, and performance gaps
• Optimize prompts using techniques such as few-shot learning, chain-of-thought, role prompting, and tool-based prompting
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate prompts into applications, APIs, and workflows
• Work with product and business teams to understand requirements and translate them into AI behavior
• Document prompt strategies, best practices, and evaluation results
• Stay current with advancements in LLM capabilities, limitations, and prompt engineering techniques
• Support A/B testing and experimentation to continuously improve AI performance

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong written communication skills in English
• Experience working with large language models (e.g., GPT-style models, Claude, LLaMA, or similar)
• Understanding of natural language processing concepts and limitations of generative AI
• Ability to think analytically and systematically about language, instructions, and edge cases
• Experience testing and evaluating AI outputs against qualitative and quantitative criteria

Preferred qualifications

• Background in software engineering, data science, linguistics, cognitive science, or technical writing
• Experience with Python, JavaScript, or similar languages for prompt testing and automation
• Familiarity with AI evaluation methods, prompt versioning, and experimentation frameworks
• Experience working with APIs and AI platforms
• Knowledge of responsible AI practices, bias mitigation, and prompt safety

Nice to have
• Experience building internal AI tools or copilots
• Exposure to RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) or tool/function calling
• Experience supporting business domains such as customer support, recruiting, finance, or healthcare
