Job Purpose

  • To be responsible for the development of a quality, fit for purpose Retail network with all the facilities necessary to sell products and services (the “Integrated Retail” offer) profitably to the customer.
  • To implement all works and maintenance activities on the retail network to ensure that Retail sites presentations, conditions and functionalities are up to Group standards and that they meet customer expectations.
  • To supervise and manage the in-house maintenance team (Pump Service & Depot team) to service all Retail, Depot and B2B sites to Group standards by minimising site downtimes and meeting customer expectations at optimal costs including external contractors for specialised works.
  • To manage site based construction engineering activities for the development of fit for purpose Retail Network & to deliver the retail program & related activities efficiently and effectively and within agreed budget whilst meeting customers expectations and Group investment criteria.
  • Ensure Engineering plays a key role in the RCVP delivery.
  • To ensure that agreed HSSE standards are well implemented and complied with by both VE Engineering staff and contractors.
  • To be responsible for design, contract administration and supervision of engineering works including repairs and maintenance at customer sites.
  • To ensure continuity of business by ensuring proper preventive maintenance and repairs of equipment with primary focus on the Commercial and Retail network.
  • To provide sound technical advice to existing and potential customers, both external and internal.
  • To implement all works and maintenance activities to ensure that sites presentations, conditions and functionalities are up to Group standards and that they meet customer expectations.
  • To support the in-house maintenance team to service all Retail, Distribution and B2B sites to Group standards by minimising site downtimes and meeting customer expectations at optimal costs including external contractors for specialised works.
  • To manage site based construction engineering activities for the development of fit for purpose Depots and networks & to deliver the engineering program & related activities efficiently and effectively and within agreed budget whilst meeting customers expectations and Group investment criteria.
  • Ensure Engineering plays a key role in the CVP delivery.
  • To ensure that agreed HSSE standards are well implemented and complied with by both VE Engineering staff and contractors.

Principal Accountabilities

  1. To design appropriate installations for the needs of customers while ensuring adherence to required safety standards.
  2. To manage and implement setting up of NTI’s, KDRs and upgrades from the moment all necessary permits have been obtained by the Network manager to the handover to the Territory Manager after opening/re-opening of sites.
  3. To design and implement Retail, ,B2B & LPG installations in accordance to VEML standards and Hsse Requirements.
  4. To design & implement projects in the depot in close collaboration with the depot engineering and operation staff.
  5. To backup Engineers when they are on leave.
  6. To effectively manage contractors to ensure that all works are carried out to the required engineering and HSSE standards in the most economic manner through regular engagement talks e.g. toolbox talks and preparation of appropriate permit to work.
  7. To plan and implement all maintenance and upgrading works (capex and revex) to ensure timely implementation within budget with the overall objective of maintaining/improving the sites standards.
  8. To coordinate tank movements and recertification of tanks with contractors as per an agreed programme so as to ensure business continuity.
  9. To be jointly responsible for the pump Service staff and to plan and monitor all Pump Service activities so as to ensure reliable and timely maintenance of the retail and B2B sites facilities.
  10. To trouble shoot and ensure necessary repairs are undertaken at all customer sites in an effective and timely manner so that customers are always satisfied.
  11. To respond to customer queries in a timely and professional manner in order to ensure customers are always satisfied.
  12. To implement and manage an Asset Management System for capturing and managing of maintenance done on each site and measure and improve the effectiveness of the maintenance spend while ensuring a fit for purpose maintenance programme is in place.
  13. To work with CP to develop and maintain strategies to optimize site development, maintenance and equipment costs.
  14. To ensure that all works effected are timely and accurately invoices.
  15. To develop and maintain contractor selection and monitoring process.
  16. To monitor and ensure delivery of the Maintenance Service Level Standards.
  17. To adhere to General Business Principles and any other policy as set out by the Group.

Requirements

  • Degree holder in Mechanical field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of technical specifications & standards
  • Procurement of services & materials
  • HSSE in design, maintenance & construction implementation
  • A hardworking, self-motivated, results orientated, profitability focussed individual with good interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership qualities with track record in ‘getting it done’.
