Position summary
Tantus is seeking a Project Manager to support our client at The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Working remotely, the PM serves as a relationship manager and advocate for both their assigned project/technology team(s) and the enterprise IT infrastructure team(s). You will build strong relationships and maintain alignment to the client/customers’ desired business outcomes, providing consistent engagement and responsiveness to both their assigned product team’s infrastructure needs, and to the infrastructure team’s planned initiatives and timelines. You will be aware of the big picture and offer critical bi-directional communication and coordination between the program lines of business, enterprise services, and various contractor teams.
What will you do in this role?
- Strive to be proactive and consultive in nature, bringing deep knowledge of the client’s vision, product use cases, and best practices to their customers to maximize the benefit from the enterprise platform and infrastructure products.
- Understand and positively represent the features and function of the Cloud, DevOps and Security and collaboration products and services being implemented by and for the client and help the team promote upcoming changes and system enhancements.
- Conversely, champion the cause of the assigned product team customers they interface with, while promoting alignment to the broader client infrastructure strategy.

Assist in matching technological solutions to client needs and create/track tickets to refer tasks and projects to the appropriate IT resources.
- Communicate planned and unplanned maintenance and upgrade events to all project areas.
- Coordinate system and individual user onboarding/offboarding activities to data, tools and services.
- Prioritize security initiatives and directives with both infrastructure and the assigned product team.

Bring awareness to customers about areas of the platform that are over or under-utilized and drive adoption of the DevSecOps tools and features available for use.
- Attend meetings and monitor all posts and channels of communication to maintain alignment with dynamically shifting infrastructure ecosystems with the status and needs of assigned product teams.

Closely track the technical side of assigned projects to facilitate communication to the correct infrastructure team(s) to assist with any questions, issues or dependencies in a timely manner.
- Participate in Agile/Scaled Agile ceremonies for the assigned product team to assist in identifying and addressing infrastructure needs.

Also represent and advocate for your assigned product team(s) at Agile/Scaled Agile ceremonies for the infrastructure (Networking, Cloud, Security) teams.
- Actively participate in all risk identification and management activities.

Identify integration points, potential efficiencies and external dependencies between current project-level schedules.
- Contribute to product roadmap planning as a customer advocate.

Monitor key performance indicators to verify service level agreements.
- Build trust and transparency with clients and customers.
- Support process development and documentation
What do you need to succeed in this role?
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year institution.

5+ years professional experience, to include experience in a relevant technical client-facing role. Experience working with government entities or contracts is a plus.

Experience working in an Agile environment. SAFe Agile experience is a plus.

Agile certifications such as Scrum Master, Product Owner, SAFe Agile, are a plus.
- Experience using tools such as JIRA and Confluence, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)

Experience with QualityNet IT tools and services (such as AWS Cloud, DevSecOps tools (such as New Relic, Ansible Tower), HARP, FileCloud, MFT, Centralized Data Repository, and others) is a plus.
- Strong listening skills with demonstrated ability to ask effective questions, understand customer priorities and anticipate customer needs.
- Experience advocating for your customers’ needs.
- Proficiency with internet-related technologies, to include practical experience/knowledge of website architecture, web applications and how they interact with databases, and the latest trends in web applications.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, networking, security, and DevOps tools.
- Strong interpersonal, written/verbal communication, and presentation skills.
- Excellent business/system process skills, exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to clearly articulate solutions to end users.
- Successful history of working on multiple projects simultaneously and meeting project deadlines on time.

Comfortable in technology environments and enthusiastic for learning new technologies.
- Must be a self-motivated team player with a positive attitude – able to work effectively with a dispersed team.
In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the midpoint of the salary range for this role is $125,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
