AI overview

Drive delivery of complex bespoke software projects by taking ownership of multiple engagements and ensuring their success through effective management and governance.

Please keep in mind this job post defines our ideal candidate. Although you don’t match all the requirements, don’t be afraid to apply! ;)

 Location of this role

Spain, Hungary or Romania.

It’s a remote-first role with the option to go to one of our super nice offices! Please be aware that UK client work may require occasional on-site days.

Why does this role exist?

We deliver complex, bespoke software for clients who expect outcomes, not ceremonies. We’re hiring an experienced Project Manager who can take ownership fast—including taking over multiple active projects within your first two weeks—and drive delivery across fixed-price, T&M, support and augmentation models.

What will you do?

  • Own overall end-to-end delivery for several engagements: you are overall accountable for the success of the projects you manage, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, quality, resourcing, acceptance and implementation are properly governed in partnership with the Product Owner, Technical Lead, and Account Manager.
  • Protect the plan and the margin: maintain project budgets, forecasts and billing plans; spot variances early; take corrective action.
  • Run governance: work closely with our Product Owners, Technical Leads and Account Managers to govern your projects, leveraging artifacts (e.g., RAG status; planned vs actual budget + forecast; RAID log; change log; quality gates & acceptance, etc.) with clear cadences.
  • De-risk proactively: surface risks/options, make decisions, and drive actions with our project teams and the client.
  • Stakeholder & communication management: map internal and client stakeholders, tailor communication to different audiences (execs, PO, engineering), reset expectations when needed, and keep decisions/trade-offs explicit.
  • Manage expectations: set transparent goals, negotiate trade-offs, communicate early, prevent scope creep via change control, and keep CSAT high.
  • Contribute to presales when needed (approach, estimation assumptions, ways of working).

Minimum qualifications

  • 5+ years leading bespoke software projects (web/mobile/cloud) in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proven success on fixed-price and T&M engagements, including budgeting, forecasting, and margin management.
  • Strong command of scope & change control (SOWs, variations) and risk/issue management.
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity and pressure; you decide, unblock, and move teams forward.
  • Technical fluency: you don’t need to code, but you can challenge trade-offs, sequence work, and translate between business and engineering.
  • C1+ English with crisp, structured communication (written and verbal).
  • Proven stakeholder management across executives, Product Owners and engineering, with communication adapted to different audiences.
  • Strong time management and prioritisation to run multiple engagements in parallel.
  • Evidence of designing or adapting delivery artifacts/processes when absent to regain control of scope, schedule, budget and quality.

What One Beyond is committed to providing to you!

  • Attractive benefits package applies.
