We are seeking a hands-on, operationally focused Project Manager to lead a fast-paced, on-site data collection project in San Diego (La Jolla). This role will be responsible for the overall execution, team performance, client engagement, and data integrity of the project. You will supervise the team and act as the primary point of contact with internal and external stakeholders, and drive quality and accountability across all aspects of execution.

 

You will be instrumental in creating structure, reinforcing standards, and ensuring we meet project targets and client SLAs.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Serve as the primary on-site liaison between the research lead and the moderator team for project updates, escalations, and delivery assurance
  • Own full life cycle project management – from planning and kickoff to execution and closeout
  • Supervise day-to-day activities of project staff, including moderators, and assistants
  • Drive accountability, enforce process discipline, and deliver performance feedback across the team
  • Monitor data collection operations to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to protocol
  • Lead daily stand-ups, status checks, and coordination meetings with internal teams
  • Create and maintain dashboards, trackers, and reporting tools to provide visibility on KPIs
  • Identify operational risks, propose solutions, and drive implementation
  • Ensure project documentation is consistently updated and audit-ready
  • Train, onboard, and mentor project team members as needed

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience managing large-scale projects, ideally in data collection, operations, or research environments
  • Experience supervising multi-level teams and navigating client-facing roles
  • Strong command of project planning tools, spreadsheets, and dashboards (e.g. Excel, Sheets, project management platforms)
  • Comfort working in dynamic environments and solving day-to-day executional challenges
  • Ability to give direct feedback, drive accountability, and enforce standards
  • Proficient in data monitoring, process optimization, and operational quality assurance
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills
  • Creative problem-solver, especially around recruiting and participant engagement
  • Experience working on-site with shifting schedules and priorities
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred

 

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience in managing field research, usability testing, or human-factor studies
  • Familiarity with AI training data or human-in-the-loop systems


Project Details:

  • Engagement Type: Hired through an Employer of Record (EOR) arrangement
  • Target Start Date: Jan 2nd (not negotiable)
  • Duration: 4 weeks (through February 6, 2026)
  • Location: On-site in San Diego (near UTC Mall)
