Work Environment: NGL offers a flexible work environment where employees can work fully remote, hybrid or onsite at our Madison, Wis. office. We support virtual working arrangements in certain states outside of WI.
A Day in the Life:
The Project Manager is responsible for analyzing and documenting business requirements as they relate to NGL project initiatives, and providing project management on projects. This position focuses on meeting with business units to fully understand their requirements for the project, and writing the appropriate documentation to be used by software developers, vendors, stakeholders, QA and/or anyone else that has a role in the project. The Project Management portion of this job focuses on development of a project charter (to include a cost/benefit analysis when appropriate), organizing the team, facilitating the appropriate communication among team members, monitoring the various tasks to complete the project, ensuring barriers to a successful completion are eliminated and that the project is implemented.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Provide project management leadership to cross-functional teams of NGL, including external resources when necessary.
• Responsible for managing one or more small to mediums projects.
• Create and maintain project plans, including scope, schedule, resource allocation, and budget, as necessary.
• Ensure a consistent project management and/or system development methodology is used with all project work.
• Analyze and document business requirements.
• Assist in the development of system specifications to ensure they meet the business requirements.
• Proactively recommend improvements to business processes.
• Facilitate the appropriate level of communication throughout all the stakeholders of a project, which could include communicating with staff level positions to senior level management.
• Track and manage project issues and risks, resolving and/or escalating items as needed.
• Ensure stakeholders understand the role of the project manager and how they can effectively support projects.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment with project goals.
• Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
• Responsibility for meeting all agreed upon completion dates when either managing or participating on project teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
