The Project Manager provides project development, leadership, management, and oversight for internal strategic projects.  These projects are normally major initiatives that require corporate guidance, facilitation and oversight.  They will vary depending on size and scope and will require flexible tailored project management solutions.  The Project Manager oversees all aspects of a project using planning, monitoring, and controlling processes to ensure on time, on budget delivery. This position provides day-to-day project team management as well as communications with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure successful execution.  It includes direct interaction with a broad range of senior, technical, and functional managers along with subject matter experts within client and external teams, often acting as the single point of contact to client leads and/or vendors.  

Responsibilities:

  • Manages internal strategic projects (typically IT-focused projects).
  • Ownership throughout the full project lifecycle – initiation, planning, execution, closure.
  • Oversees and directs activities of project personnel (client and client/vendor) to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
  • Develops and executes against a detailed project plan (work breakdown structure).
  • Disciplined documentation of project artifacts.
  • Acts as a brand ambassador for client when managing external facing projects.
  • Develops and delivers appropriate communications and updates to project stakeholders.
  • Provides cross-functional leadership in the management of enterprise projects.
  • Builds a collaborative environment for the project team.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the triple constraint.
  • Responsible for all Change Management.
  • Effectively manages risk – escalates concerns, risks, and issues with the appropriate sense of urgency.
  • Actively drives mitigation/resolution of concerns, risks, and issues.
  • Analyzes project outcomes and documents lessons learned to team knowledge base.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of ten years of related experience managing strategic and enterprise projects through a complete project lifecycle.
  • Must understand the SDLC.
  • Ability to manage client/internal relationships and instill sense of confidence in ability to deliver objectives.
  • Must clearly demonstrate the ability to deliver projects on schedule, within budget, with a high degree of customer satisfaction.
  • Experience working with waterfall and agile project management methodologies.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbally) with clients, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
  • Ability to define and facilitate detailed project plans.
  • Demonstrated accomplishment in successfully managing concurrent projects and cross-functional project teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities such as conflict/issue resolution.
  • Excellent analytical and organization skills, including the proven ability to adapt to a dynamic project environment and manage multiple projects.
  • The proven ability to manage key stakeholder interests in an ambivalent culture while at the same time managing conflicting priorities and business interests.
  • Very strong follow-up and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to present their project status professionally and clearly on a weekly basis to leadership.
  • Experience managing large and complex infrastructure and SaaS initiatives a plus

Education

  • BE/BTECH in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent (Master’s degree preferred).
  • PMP certification highly desired.
