Tasks:

  • Manage and be accountable for a series of projects to client’s project management standards, specifically concerned with integrating internal developed components and services and with external services.

  • Follow the guidance provided by PMO, Head of Team and the Stream Leader.
  • Strengthen project governance implementation through chairing meetings when needed, checkpoints and boards of assigned projects, keeping stakeholders informed with up-to-date information at all times and ensuring appropriate decision making;
  • Ensure that all relevant project management documentation, including a realistic plan and Gantt chart agreed among the project stakeholders, is in place in the project management system at any given time. This includes participating directly in the production of project management deliverables;
  • Ensure that the Gantt chart is always updated and showing reality;
  • Manage the implementation of information systems to meet identified business needs, acquiring and utilising the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales, and quality;
  • Facilitate the production and approval of project deliverables, at the specified quality level and in accordance with the project implementation plan;
  • Track and monitor project implementation in accordance with the scope, budget and person days specified in the project implementation documentation; 
  • Participate in identification and handling of dependencies, issues and risks affecting the project;
  • Proactive accountability and ownership of any risks and issues identified. Provide mitigation strategies and ensure that, when required, they are implemented or, if required, effectively escalated through the established governance (Stream leader, ICT Management, Steering Committees, Portfolio Boards, etc.);
  • Monitor of the budget and resources available to the project, reporting to the Stream Lead (Budget holder), and support PMO undertaking steps to correct deviations either through the financial procedures or through resource management processes;
  • Interact and communicating with client’s relevant internal stakeholders for the purpose of project implementation and monitoring, including regular project progress reporting;
  • Supervise the delivery of products and services by external suppliers in accordance with the contracts in place, addressing and resolving issues and risks related to the relationship with those suppliers;
  • Facilitate PMO initiatives on estimating costs, timescales and resource requirements for yearly demand cycle.

Who you are:

Mandatory:

  • Bachelor plus minimum of 9 years of relevant experience 
  • Certification: PM Certification such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMI PMP, PM2 Certified or similar
  • At least 9 years of experience leading cross-functional and multicultural teams in international ICT project environments, with a proven ability to coordinate, and align diverse team efforts to successfully deliver complex projects
  • At least 9 years of experience presenting complex ICT project plans, progress reports, and outcomes in English to stakeholders, including clients, executives, and cross-functional teams
  • Managed minimum 5 end to end projects involving Commercial-off-the-Shelf software deployments, Cloud deployment, incremental software delivery, ICT infrastructure deployment, and/or service integration with external parties.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing cloud (implementation) projects and delivering cloud services effectively, ensuring they meet client requirements and align with business goals.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in working in an international environment and/or 2 years in EU institutions or bodies
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a highly regulated environment, preferably in a public/government environment
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in standard project management tools such as MS Project
  • Good knowledge of planning and estimation techniques
  • Good knowledge of MS office including PowerPoint timelines and schedule visuals.
  • Strong foundation in IT and basic cloud concepts. Familiarity with different cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Fluency, in English, to at least B2/C1 level according to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

Desirable:

  • Foundation Cloud Certifications and foundational understanding of the major cloud platforms.
  • Good knowledge of structured approach to incremental software integration projects working with system integrators, e.g. with an example of a service integration with a third party service provider Enterprise service bus integration with internal and external services
  • Good knowledge of infrastructure projects, i.e. projects with a scope to deliver (virtual) infrastructure, connectivity and environments
  • Good knowledge of Public IT procurement, (EU) tendering processes and contract management throughout project lifecycles
