Project Management Summer Intern

Notre Dame Learning Office of Digital Learning (ODL) at Notre Dame Learning is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Project Management Intern for Summer 2026. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain leadership experience by managing a team of Academic Media and Learning Design interns on a Summer Sprint project and exploring AI-driven efficiencies to enhance ODL’s operational processes.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates to gain hands-on experience in project management, team management, and process improvement while contributing to impactful digital learning initiatives.

What You’ll Do

The responsibilities of this role are commensurate with experience and educational background. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Project Managing a Digital Learning Project

    • Under the supervision of the Senior Digital Learning Project Manager, serve as the project lead for a Digital Learning Project. This could include working with a cohort of Academic Media and Learning Design interns collaboratively on a summer-long digital learning project

    • Facilitate project planning, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with ODL best practices

    • Coordinate team meetings, monitor progress using project management tools (Asana), and foster an environment of collaboration and innovation

    • Ensure a successful final project outcome 

  2. Exploring AI-Driven Efficiencies for ODL Operations

    • Develop innovative approaches to streamline the creation of Project Charters, which outline the scope, objectives, and relationships for ODL projects.

    • Investigate how AI tools can enhance operational processes, from drafting charters to optimizing workflows.

    • Collaborate with team members to prototype and document these enhancements.

In addition to those responsibilities, the candidate will also have the chance to shadow ODL Project Managers on a variety of projects to further gain experience working with faculty members, stakeholders and other ODL team members.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a bachelor’s degree program in Business Administration, Information Systems, Project Management, or a related field.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Asana) and/or data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with or interest in AI tools and their applications in organizational processes.

  • Knowledge of data visualization best practices.

  • Detail-oriented with a proactive attitude and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Time Commitment: Up to 30 hours per week.

Location: This is an in-person position requiring work at the University of Notre Dame. A hybrid schedule may be considered with remote options on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Duration: The internship will last approximately 10-12 weeks, starting in early summer.

Compensation: This is a paid internship (17.50/hr)
