The Project Engineer will provide technical guidance to ensure each project meets engineering and operational standards. This includes preparing and reviewing engineering drawings, providing specifications, working closely with the project team and stakeholders to identify requirements. The candidate will also be supporting the Project Manager with developing scope of work, budget, and schedule. Ultimately, the Project Engineer is responsible for leading and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams in the development of technical deliverables for the various projects assigned to them.

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Develop detailed project plans that include scope, schedule and budget.

-Review and approve engineering designs, ensuring they meet project specifications.

-Work closely with relevant stakeholders, contractors, and vendors to ensure efficient project delivery.

-Monitor project progress and address any technical issues.

-Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and regulations.

-Prepare required reports and forecasts.

-Manage and allocate resources, including personnel, materials, and equipment.

-Conduct ongoing risk assessments – identifying and developing strategies to reduce risks

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in a similar role, preferable within the mining or construction industries.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation /Electrical/Mechanical.
  • Proficient with computers.
  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Suite of programs including MS Project.
  • Previous experience with refrigeration is an asset.
  • Open to occasional site travel.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of project management methodologies and principles.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting.
  • Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and regulations. 
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and meet project deadlines.
  • Demonstrate active listening and an ability to communicate technical concepts with non-technical stakeholders.
