Job Title: Project Engineer (Construction / Industrial Installation)
Location: Terrassa, Spain (Site-Based)
Contract: 12-Month Fixed Term
Reports To: Project Manager (UK-Based)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer with a strong engineering background and proven experience working within construction and industrial installation environments. The role will be based full-time on a customer manufacturing site in Terrassa, Spain, supporting the installation of new vessels, utilities, and production process equipment.
You will act as the on-site engineering interface, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of project activities while maintaining close communication with the UK-based Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and layout documentation.
- Oversee day-to-day site engineering activities related to the installation of vessels, process equipment, and associated infrastructure.
- Conduct and review Risk Assessments (RA) and Method Statements (RAMS) in line with project and site safety standards.
- Provide technical support to contractors and site teams to ensure correct installation and compliance with engineering requirements.
- Monitor construction progress, identify risks, and escalate issues to the Project Manager as appropriate.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, EC&I, process, and production engineering disciplines.
- Ensure project works adhere to quality assurance procedures, safety regulations, and customer requirements.
- Support commissioning activities, testing, and handover documentation as required.
- Maintain accurate site reporting, including progress updates, work permits, deviations, and change requests.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, EC&I, Process, Production, or similar).
- Proven experience working on construction or heavy industrial installation projects, ideally within a manufacturing or process industry facility.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, P&IDs, and layout plans.
- Experience preparing or reviewing RAMS and ensuring compliance with site safety protocols.
- Ability to work independently on a customer site while maintaining effective communication with a remote (UK-based) project team.
- Strong organisational, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluency in English is essential; Spanish language skills are highly advantageous.
