Position Summary:
The Project Director, Finance and Billing leads complex, multidisciplinary, and multisite Finance and Revenue Cycle Management initiatives, operating comfortably at both strategic and tactical levels, providing strategic thought leadership while rolling up their sleeves to drive projects that align with and achieve the defined Critical Success Factors and strategic actions outlined in the NeoGenomics Focus Chart, ensuring operational excellence and financial sustainability across the organization. 
 
Core Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with project sponsors and leaders to define strategies, goals, and objectives, develop actionable plans, and ensure successful execution 
  • Apply advanced project management and process improvement methodologies to deliver practical and scalable solutions for complex financial and billing challenges 
  • Balance project scope, schedule, and budget with quality while managing competing priorities and constraints across multiple initiatives 
  • Drive cross-function alignment to ensure consistent communication and coordination among teams to achieve business outcomes 
  • Develop and own project plan with contributions from stakeholders, maintaining the plan throughout the project lifecycle to reflect evolving priorities and dependencies 
  • Enable data-driven decisions 
  • Proactively manage risks and changes to minimize disruption 
  • Partner with Finance and Billing Leadership Team to shape financial and billing priorities, develop roadmaps, and sequence initiatives that align with organizational goals and optimize resource allocation 
  • Drive multidisciplinary, multisite projects focused on Finance and Revenue Cycle Management, ensuring alignment with critical success factors and strategic objectives 
  • Serve as a key liaison across projects ensuring clear communication between teams 
  • Collaborate on compliance and risk management by working closely with Internal Audit, Legal, Compliance, and Information Technology groups 
  • Work independently, exercise sound judgment, manage diverse and conflicting priorities and projects in an effective manner, and meet deadlines 
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of staff across all locations 
 
Experience, Education and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required 
  • 10 or more years of formal project management experience, including IT systems and implementations, with 5 or more years managing and delivering projects in highly regulated organizations required 
  • PMP or PgMP certification or equivalent required 
  • Demonstrate strong project management acumen 
  • Apply process improvement methodology preferred 
  • Bring experience in clinical lab, biotech, or pharma preferred 
  • Manage high-visibility, high-complexity, and/or high-risk multidisciplinary and multisite projects or programs with 10 or more years of experience 
  • Exhibit professional poise in interactions with senior leadership, internal and external customers, and stakeholders 
  • Lead change effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced organization 
  • Develop cross-functional teams, bring out the best in team members, and bridge divides to accomplish project goals 
  • Facilitate meetings or workshops effectively, collaborating and communicating with all levels of the organization 
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills 
  • Resolve conflicts, issues, and risks effectively, including escalation 
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time 
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
