About the role:

Numeral builds modern indirect tax infrastructure that simplifies how companies calculate, file, and pay indirect tax. Our platform sits at the intersection of filings, payments, compliance, and automation helping businesses file, on time, and at scale.

We’re looking for a Program Manager, Payments to own the go-to-market, launch, and scaling of Numeral’s sales tax payments program. This role is critical to ensuring our payments product is operationally sound, technically scalable, and delivers a best-in-class customer experience.

You will act as the project manager across product, engineering, operations, and sales, owning execution for complex, cross-functional initiatives. This is a hands-on role for someone who has managed real payment products, understands operational complexity, and thrives in ambiguity.

What You’ll Do

Payments Go-To-Market & Launch

  • Own end-to-end launch planning and execution for Numeral’s sales tax payments product

  • Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure product, operational, and customer readiness

  • Partner with Sales and Customer teams to support enablement, rollout, and adoption

Program & Project Management

  • Lead complex, multi-team programs with clear ownership, timelines, and dependencies

  • Identify gaps, risks, and blockers across product, engineering, and operations

  • Drive accountability and execution across distributed stakeholders

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Engineering to scope and deliver payment capabilities

  • Partner with Operations to define and scale processes for payment execution, reconciliation, and exception handling

  • Collaborate with Product and Sales to identify customer experience gaps and improvement opportunities

Payments, Operations & Customer Experience

  • Identify operational, product, and customer experience gaps in the sales tax payment lifecycle

  • Drive improvements that increase reliability, scalability, and transparency

  • Help design processes and tooling that support growth and regulatory complexity

Ambiguous Problem Solving

  • Break down complex, ambiguous problems into actionable workstreams

  • Balance speed, quality, and risk in a regulated payments environment

  • Continuously improve how Numeral launches and scales payments programs

What you'll bring

  • Payments Product Experience

    • Hands-on experience managing or launching a payments product

    • Fintech experience; experience with regulated financial products is a plus

  • Program / Product Management Experience

    • Proven experience as a Program Manager or Product Manager

    • Strong track record of delivering cross-functional programs end-to-end

  • Technical & Operational Fluency

    • Experience working closely with engineering teams

    • Ability to understand technical systems and operational workflows well enough to drive execution

  • Execution in Ambiguity

    • Comfortable operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments

    • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills

    • Ability to scale programs and processes as the product and customer base grow
