Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Program Associate - Energy Access and Livelihood (Installations and Maintenance). In this role, the candidate will be responsible for the successful installation, support, and maintenance of various machines and appliances. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product partners and customer success, to enhance our service delivery and help improve the livelihoods of the communities we serve through our partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation and Technical Support:

  • Coordinate and oversee the installation of Productive use of electricity machines and appliances, either on-site or remotely, ensuring adherence to company standards and client specifications.
  • Provide technical assistance during and after the installation process, addressing troubleshooting, system testing, and configuration requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers post-sale, assisting with technical queries, providing product updates, and ensuring prompt resolution of any issues.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive records of installation procedures, client feedback, service reports, and all relevant documentation.
  • Document system performance, issues encountered, and resolutions provided to ensure consistent quality across installations and services.

Collaboration with Internal Teams:

  • Work closely with Product Partners, Product Teams, and the Customer Success Team to continuously improve installation processes, service protocols, and customer experiences.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to provide updates and feedback on installation progress, system performance, and customer satisfaction.

Training and Education:

  • Provide end-user training on the proper use and maintenance of installed PUE Machines and appliances, ensuring customers are well-equipped to manage their systems effectively.

Service and Maintenance:

  • Monitor the performance of installed systems, identifying any necessary upgrades or preventive maintenance to ensure long-term functionality.
  • Conduct routine and scheduled maintenance on installed systems to ensure optimal operation.
  • Respond to service requests promptly, ensuring timely follow-up and issue resolution.

Inventory and Tools Management:

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of tools, products, and materials required for installation and service tasks.
  • Ensure that service records, inventory logs, and customer feedback are maintained and updated regularly.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure that all installations and service activities are carried out in compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and internal policies.
  • Proactively identify any safety concerns and escalate as necessary to prevent accidents or incidents.

Additional Duties:

  • Perform other duties as reasonably assigned by the Manager or senior management team.
  • A degree or diploma in a relevant technical field such as Electrical and Electronics, Electrical and Mechanical, Energy, or similar.
  • Prior experience in Motor and their control panels, installations, or technical support preferred.
  • Prior experience in food and value chain processing machines installations and maintenance is a great added advantage.
  • Experience working with renewable energy systems is an advantage.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, food processing machine and their installation/maintenance.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to provide clear and concise technical explanations to customers.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for identifying potential issues before they arise.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across different functions to achieve common goals.
  • Certifications and a member of Engineers Institute of Zambia (EIZ) preferred.

Salary is commensurate with experience.  Customized Energy Solutions offers competitive salary commensurate with experience. Involves extensive travel—around 80%—to rural communities and field project sites throughout Zambia, which may occasionally require overnight stays. This is a contractual position for a duration of one year, with the possibility of extension based on organizational requirements and individual performance.
