We're looking for a Professional services engineer to join our Professional Services team in Athens. This is a technical, customer-facing role — not a core product engineering position. You'll work directly with enterprise clients to deliver custom technical solutions that help them get the most out of Workable, collaborating closely with Implementation Managers throughout the process.
If you're an engineer who gets energy from solving real-world customer problems, communicating complex ideas clearly, and seeing your work deliver immediate business value — this role is for you.
Responsibilities
Technical Delivery
- Build and deploy custom integrations tailored to client needs — from requirements gathering through to production
- Execute data migrations, ensuring the secure and accurate transfer of legacy data into Workable
- Develop SQL-based custom reports and data visualisations for clients
- Configure complex, customised feature sets within customer accounts
- Build and maintain internal tooling, including requirement gathering and technical design documentation
Client & Project Collaboration
- Work hand-in-hand with Implementation Managers to ensure smooth client onboarding from sale to go-live
- Define technical milestones within the broader project plan and give accurate delivery timelines
- Identify potential technical blockers early and propose practical workarounds
- Join client calls to translate technical processes into clear business outcomes
- Document all custom configurations so IMs can support clients post-implementation
Cross-Team Support
- Act as a technical subject matter expert for Sales and Implementation teams
- Provide API consultation and answer technical questions for non-technical colleagues
- Work with Tech Leads to test and deploy custom solutions to internal standards
We invest in training engineers in the technology stack we use. If you're an exceptionally good engineer who wants to work in a world-class software company, you're in the right place.
Requirements
You must have:
- 1–3 years of software engineering experience, preferably in Python
- Solid SQL skills and experience working with databases
- A BSc in Computer Science or equivalent (coding school + non-CS degree considered)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills — you'll be in front of clients regularly
- The ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences clearly and confidently
- Comfort working directly with enterprise customers and translating their needs into technical solutions
Nice to have:
- Experience with AWS (Redshift, S3, EC2, Lambda)
- Familiarity with the full SDLC
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Ruby or Ruby on Rails
Important: This role involves regular direct contact with customers. If you're looking for a role focused purely on building product, this probably isn't the right fit. If you want to combine solid engineering work with meaningful client impact, read on.
