Production Superintendent

As the Production Superintendent at New Flyer, you will oversee production operations at our facility, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met. Reporting directly to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for the supervision of production staff and the execution of strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing operational performance.

  • Lead and mentor a team of supervisory staff in various production areas.
    • Areas include but are not limited to: Assembly, Quality Control, and Logistics.
  • Ensure compliance with production schedules and optimize resource allocation to meet performance metrics.
  • Drive continuous improvement through the implementation of LEAN manufacturing principles.
  • Work in collaboration with cross-functional teams to uphold quality standards and achieve company goals.
  • Administer training and development plans for team members to foster growth and skill enhancement.
  • Implement and enforce safety procedures in alignment with company regulations and industry practices.
  • Evaluate operational processes and suggest improvements to enhance workflow.
  • Manage reporting, analysis, and performance tracking.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with supervisory experience
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient in using standard software applications, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
  • Familiarity with safety and quality regulations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
