Ignite IT is seeking a skilled Production Operations Engineer to join our team in supporting the development, deployment, and maintenance of web applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance of our systems; monitoring and troubleshooting issues; and collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and troubleshoot production systems to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance
  • Collaborate with development teams to develop and maintain high-quality code, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices
  • Design and implement automated monitoring and alerting tools to detect issues before they impact users
  • Develop and maintain scripts to automate tasks, such as data backups, log collection, and system updates
  • Work with infrastructure teams to ensure seamless deployment of applications into production environments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and develop solutions to improve the overall production lifecycle
  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical issues
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and recommend improvements to our production operations processes

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Production Operations Engineering or a related field
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack
  • Strong understanding of automated monitoring and alerting tools, including Nagios, Sensu, or Datadog
  • Knowledge of containerization using Docker or similar technology
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
