Production & Industrialization Engineer (m/f/x)

Establish and lead innovative e-motor and e-drive assembly operations in Shanghai, driving continuous improvements and ensuring high production quality from the start.

About the Job

Join us at an exciting moment: Backed by our experienced German headquarters, we are now establishing our Shanghai office and building our e-motor and e-drive assembly operations in China from the ground up. You will start right in the heart of Shanghai, with relocating to our production site taking shape in the greater Shanghai area (within ~100 km) over the coming months. This is your chance to be one of the first on the ground in China, make a real impact from day one, and grow with us as we scale up.
Target start date for this role is June to September.

Your Tasks

Production & Industrialization

  • Plan and manage drive & hub motor assembly lines (stator/rotor, bearings, housing)
  • Drive pilot-to-series ramp-up, meeting QCD targets
  • Optimize processes, layouts, and automation concepts
  • Lead production readiness, DFM/DFA reviews, and line validation
  • Coordinate tooling and equipment commissioning for on-time SOP

Quality, Process  & Cost Control

  • Ensure IATF 16949, APQP, and PPAP compliance
  • Implement error-proofing (Poka Yoke), traceability, and root cause analysis
  • Oversee End-of-Line testing (electrical, functional, NVH)
  • Optimize cycle times, labor efficiency, and scrap rates
  • Drive continuous improvement methodologies according to Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen

Your Profile

  • 8+ years in automotive production or assembly, ideally in a Tier-1 or OEM environment
  • Proven experience with e-motors, e-drives, or electromechanical powertrains
  • Strong background in assembly line setup and SOP ramp-up
  • Knowledge of EOL testing, HV safety, NVH, and assembly automation
  • Structured, data-driven, and solution-oriented work style
  • Experience in cross-cultural and international teams
  • Fluent English and Chinese
