Production Support Electrical Engineer – Secret Clearance Required

Location: Tucson, AZ (On-site)
Job Type: Contract or Contract to hire(W-2)
Clearance: Active Secret
Pay: $100,000 - $120,000 with full Government benefits

Overview

Seeking a Production Support Electrical Engineer to support factory and supplier issue resolution for complex electronic assemblies and subsystems. This role focuses on troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, technical documentation updates, and driving corrective actions to closure in a production environment.

The selected engineer will support manufacturing, test, and supplier teams while maintaining and updating technical data packages and implementing engineering changes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Resolve production factory and/or supplier issues related to electronic assemblies
  • Troubleshoot failures using lab equipment including:
    • Oscilloscopes
    • Logic analyzers
    • Function generators
    • Programmable power supplies
    • Spectrum analyzers
    • Network analyzers
  • Maintain and update Technical Data Packages (TDPs)
  • Create and process engineering change documentation using cPDM
  • Present change packages at Review Boards / Change Boards
  • Take ownership of issues and drive them to completion by coordinating cross-functional team members and resources
  • Participate in peer reviews with Engineering and Operations teams
  • Analyze defect and yield data to identify trends
  • Implement process improvements to reduce recurring failures
  • Support general electrical engineering tasks related to production and manufacturing

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional engineering experience
  • Experience in one or more of the following:
    • Digital, analog, RF, and/or mixed-signal testing and debugging of complex circuit card assemblies (CCAs) or electro-mechanical systems
    • Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations
    • Manufacturing and test support of electronic assemblies
  • Proficiency with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, etc.)
  • Ability to interpret:
    • Schematics
    • PCB layouts
    • Bills of Materials (BoMs)
  • Active U.S. government issued Secret security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship required

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior production support engineering experience in a defense manufacturing environment
  • Electrical engineering design experience involving:
    • Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs)
    • EO / RF / Seeker / Sensor systems
    • Electronic subsystems
  • Experience with:
    • Circuit design
    • CCA assembly
    • Electrical test
    • Supplier/sub-tier supplier production support
    • Test equipment and automation scripting
    • Printed circuit board fabrication processes
  • Experience with engineering and analysis tools such as:
    • Mentor Graphics Designer
    • PSpice
    • System Vision
    • MATLAB
    • Mathcad
    • IDL
    • CST
    • HFSS
    • ADS
  • Experience with:
    • Subsystem integration and test
    • Post-test or post-flight failure analysis
    • Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods
    • Engineering Change Notices (ECNs)
    • Technical writing and formal presentations
  • Self-starter capable of working independently and within small technical teams
  • Experience providing:
    • Technical oversight
    • Cost estimation
    • Tracking & reporting
