The Purpose

Our Product Practice Lead role is a 12 month max term contract, and we're looking for someone who gets a little spark in their eye when they hear the words “process”, “capability uplift,” or “community of practice.”

As our Product Practice Lead, your purpose is to shape, support and evolve how product is done at AP+. You’ll define what “great” looks like for our product practitioners from standards and methods, tools and quality practices and then help us live it every day.

  • Reviewing audit findings and translating them into smarter, simpler ways of working.
  • Acting as a trusted voice for product excellence across the enterprise.
  • Supporting leaders and teams to embed new ways of working.
  • Conducting performance assessments to identify improvement opportunities and prioritise them based on measurable benefit.

You’ll work with team to help ensure we’re building a product development function that’s future-ready and deeply connected to our purpose.

Expected capabilities required to be successful in the role:

You don’t just “know product.” You know how to build the conditions for product excellence to flourish.

  • Methods & Tools – selecting, tailoring and embedding product and delivery methods that actually work in the real world.

  • Organisational Capability Development – assessing maturity, prioritising uplift opportunities, and delivering measurable improvement.
  • Organisation Change Enablement – guiding teams through behavioural and cultural change with clarity and empathy.
  • Professional Development – defining career pathways and growing communities of practice.
  • Stakeholder Relationship Management – influencing, engaging and aligning diverse stakeholders toward shared outcomes.

 Experience & Background:

  • 5+ years leading capability uplift initiatives and communities of practice.
  • Experience managing governance standards, quality approaches and process improvements at an enterprise level.
  • Strong understanding of product and delivery frameworks.
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement and organisational change.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification (Business, Product Management, Organisational Development or similar) is preferred.
