Product Owner: Hardware - Autonomous Forklift Solutions

Rapyuta Robotics, a young and dynamic technology startup with offices in Japan and India, seeks a Program Manager - Mechatronics to join its team. The company has long-term ambitions to develop a cloud robotics platform as the backbone of a new technology hub, uniting hardware and software developers, businesses, and end-users.

Our Tokyo Autonomous Forklift Solutions team is hiring a Product Owner - Hardware capable of managing the design and development of state-of-the-art autonomous forklift (AFL) hardware that caters to challenging warehouse automation needs and complex processes. The team works closely with the premium forklift manufacturing enterprise in Japan. The team’s mission is to build scalable AFL solutions that support end-to-end processes in the warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Mechatronics Squad and build a culture defined by our core values
• Lead or enable all mechatronics-centric initiatives, ensuring they align with the product strategy and organizational goals within the financial projection
• Coordinate closely with software teams to ensure seamless integration of mechatronics and software components
• Work closely with supply chain and procurement teams, as well as external partners, to manage the transition from prototype to mass production
• Continuously monitor the project progress, anticipate potential issues, and devise contingency plans

• エンジニアリングチーム（メカトロニクスおよびソフトウェア）との緊密な連携による、ソリューション全体とのインテグレーションの促進

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience with hardware product management in factory automation, logistics, electric devices, or automotive industries
• Understanding of hardware development life cycle
• Strong ownership and drive for product delivery
• Ability to define and solve problems based on the first principles
• Ability to read and write technical document in English
• Ability to communicate with vendors in Japanese fluently
