Product Marketing Lead

AI overview

Lead strategic product marketing initiatives at Doist, driving impactful product launches while managing a small team and enhancing cross-functional collaboration.

At Doist, our mission is to empower people with simple yet powerful tools.

We're a multidisciplinary, fully-remote, team that’s passionate about creating products, like Todoist and Twist, that improve people’s lives. We thrive on innovating new solutions to old productivity challenges and we seek to rethink how productivity tools are made.

Our Core Values

They are few, but they are mighty. From creating processes to decision-making and recruiting, we build our four core values into nearly every single thing we do.

  • Ambition. You aspire to put a dent in the universe. You set high standards for yourself and those around you. You solve issues that have a high impact on our customers and our company.
  • Mastery. You care deeply about the quality of your work. You’re continuously learning and pushing yourself to the limits of your ability. As a champion of your craft, you are also a champion of your well-being – you work intensely, then disconnect completely.
  • Independence. Others can trust that you’ll deliver on time. You keep your word and trust your teammates to do the same. You are proactive, take ownership, and remain accountable with little or no direction.
  • Communication. Your communication is clear, concise, and engaging. You keep others in the loop and never go radio silent. You speak respectfully and foster warm relationships through your interactions. You’re culturally and socially aware and can appropriately navigate social situations.

Your Team & Role

As Product Marketing Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how Doist brings its product strategy to life in the market.

This is both a strategic and hands-on leadership role: You’ll lead through deep expertise, solving our hardest product marketing challenges while elevating the work of those around you. You’ll directly manage a small team, elevating Product Marketing from a primarily reactive function into a proactive, highly leveraged, and trusted partner to Product, Growth, Content, Brand, and Leadership.

At the same time, you’ll personally lead some of Doist’s most important product launches and campaigns, especially those tied to our evolving B2B/SMB strategy and ambitious roadmap. And you’ll have helped define the messaging behind them, ensuring individual initiatives ladder up to a coherent narrative that supports Doist’s long-term vision.

As the connective tissue between Product and Marketing, you’ll align with Product leadership and PMs to clarify positioning, define compelling narratives, and ensure launches are planned and executed with precision. Operationally, you’ll bring rigor to planning and execution: running launches like a tight ship, setting clear expectations and ownership, creating reusable frameworks.

You’ll raise the bar for Product Marketing not just at Doist, but the field at large, inspiring other companies to point to us and say, “That’s how product marketing should be done.”

This role is critical to help Doist scale its product storytelling, improve cross-functional alignment, and deliver world-class product marketing as the company enters its next phase of growth.

Requirements

We’re looking for an experienced Product Marketing leader who combines strategic depth with exceptional execution. You’re someone who has built (or rebuilt) PMM functions before, understands what excellence looks like, and knows how to bring others along with you.

Must-haves

  • 7+ years of experience in Product Marketing at a SaaS or product-led company, with clear ownership over launches, positioning, and go-to-market strategy
  • 2+ years of people leadership or PMM leadership experience, including coaching, mentoring, or managing other marketers
  • Proven experience leading complex product launches with multiple stakeholders, dependencies, and deliverables, without things falling through the cracks
  • Strong instinct for positioning and narrative development, and the ability to translate product strategy into clear, compelling market stories
  • Comfort acting as a thought partner to Product: asking hard questions, shaping direction, and pushing for clarity when things are fuzzy
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills; you naturally create structure, timelines, and shared understanding
  • Comfort using AI and automation to improve research, planning, messaging, or execution workflows
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; you can align leadership, PMs, designers, and marketers around a shared plan
  • Experience partnering closely with Brand or Creative teams on integrated campaigns
  • Prior experience building or refining PMM processes and templates (launch plans, messaging frameworks, positioning docs, etc.)

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Todoist (bonus points if you’ve been using and loving it for a while!)
  • Experience helping an organization shift positioning (e.g., from individual → team, B2C → B2B/SMB, or feature-led → narrative-led)
  • Familiarity with PLG motions and the dynamics between acquisition, activation, adoption, and expansion
  • Experience working remotely and asynchronously, setting direction in ambiguity, and owning outcomes end-to-end
