Product Manager, Sensing

AI overview

Lead the new quantum sensing product line from concept to market, translating advanced quantum science into deployable products that address real-world challenges.

About Quantum Brilliance

Quantum Brilliance is pioneering the future of quantum computing with diamond-based quantum technology — compact, energy-efficient quantum accelerators that operate at room temperature. From Australia to Germany and beyond, our mission is bold and simple: make quantum technology accessible everywhere — from data centers to satellites to edge devices.

Built on world-leading research, Quantum Brilliance brings together exceptional scientific and commercial talent across continents. Our partnerships span supercomputing centers, governments, research institutes, and industry leaders across North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific. Together, we’re redefining what’s possible at the intersection of quantum science and real-world computing.

As we expand into quantum sensing, we’re kicking-off a new product line for the high-performance quantum sensing market, with the first applications focused on GPS-denied magnetic navigation.

We’re now seeking a Product Manager for Quantum Sensing Products to lead this next frontier of our product portfolio.  We’re looking for a hands-on and resourceful technical product manager to shape the product line from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to join a fast-growing deep tech company at the point where science becomes impact — and to play a key role in influencing the group product roadmap.

The Role

As Product Manager for Quantum Sensing, you will own the lifecycle (introduction, growth, maturity, decline) of our sensing products — from concept and research validation through product definition, prototype delivery, and go-to-market readiness. Working within a strong and independent product team, you’ll eventually translate cutting-edge quantum science into impactful, deployable  products that address real-world challenges.

You’ll be responsible for defining and validating all aspects of the product, including requirements, value propositions, and GTM strategies, ensuring that our technology meets both technical and commercial expectations. Collaborating closely with engineering, marketing, and business development teams, you’ll guide the evolution of our solutions for integrated quantum sensing.

This is a role for someone who thrives at the interface between science, product, and business — someone who can bridge deep technical understanding with market insight, bringing clarity and focus to complex, frontier-technology problems. Your ability to navigate both technical depth and customer needs will be key to delivering products that redefine what’s possible in quantum sensing.

This role ideally is anticipated to operate in an onsite/hybrid type of capacity from Canberra but could also operate out of Sydney in a hybrid capacity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the definition, and own, the roadmap for Quantum Brilliance’s quantum sensing solutions.
  • Run product discovery: Lead user and stakeholder interviews, research, and validation activities to deeply understand customer problems and use cases.
  • Define, prioritize, and manage product requirements, balancing technical feasibility, market needs, and strategic goals.
  • Work with Marketing to develop clear, evidence-based messaging that articulates the value proposition and positioning of Quantum Brilliance’s sensing products across different customer segments.
  • Competitive landscape analysis: Continuously assess emerging technologies, competitors, and differentiators to inform product direction and focus areas.
  • Market analysis: Identify, refine and segment target markets, use cases, and applications where quantum sensing can deliver unique value.
  • Collaborate with the VP Product & Marketing and BU lead to craft and execute go-to-market strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Managers to plan and coordinate product launch activities, ensuring readiness across different business functions.
  • Within the product function contribute to the group-level roadmap and global marketing strategy.

About You

Must-have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in physics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in product management in high-tech or deep-tech hardware, sensing, or semiconductor-related products.
  • Strong technical literacy in physics, engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with R&D and engineering teams.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Evidence-based mindset to drive the decision-making process.
  • A hands-on, practical mindset with a strong sense of ownership and initiative.
  • Ability to synthesize scientific insights into commercial relevance.
  • Confidence and familiarity with effective leveraging of AI tools to boost productivity without trading off quality.
  • Other essential aptitudes: attention to details, cross-team collaboration, hunger to learn, adaptable to feedback

Nice-to-have:

  • Qualifications in business, product management, or tech commercialization (e.g., MBA, product management certification, or equivalent industry experience)
  • Experience in quantum sensing, photonics, MEMS, or advanced sensor systems.
  • Background in magnetic sensing or navigation technologies.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor or packaging development cycles.
  • Interest in quantum computing, advanced computing, or emerging technologies.
  • Start-up or deep-tech experience.

What We Offer

  • A front-row seat in the global quantum revolution — helping to build the foundation of a technology that will transform industries.
  • A pivotal role in shaping the future of quantum sensing and its real-world impact.
  • Close collaboration with leading researchers, engineers, and industry partners.
  • The opportunity to define and deliver one of the world’s first deployable quantum sensing chips.
  • The opportunity to shape and deliver Quantum Brilliance’s Product and Marketing function from the ground up.
  • The opportunity to directly influence the group-level roadmap and global marketing strategy working directly with the VP Product & Marketing.
  • A collaborative, mission-driven environment with passionate scientists, engineers, and business leaders.
  • Competitive compensation, including equity options.
