Product Manager - Search

We’re looking for a Product Manager to lead the vision, strategy, and execution for our Search and Discovery experience. This role sits at the intersection of product, design, machine learning, and data science, shaping the future of how users search, browse, and engage with our platform.

This position is based in NYC but has the potential to not require an in office presence if you reside in one of the following states: AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, IL, MD, MI, MA, NJ, NY, NV, NC, PA, RI, TX

What you'll do

• Define the Search Roadmap: Establish a clear vision and prioritized roadmap for search, balancing impact and innovation.
• Drive Search Relevance: Lead initiatives in query understanding, retrieval methods (vector-based, keyword, and hybrid), and ranking to improve precision and recall.
• Design Modern Search Experiences: Collaborate with design to create intuitive and delightful search and filtering experiences across devices.
• Leverage Image & Text Embeddings: Work closely with ML engineers to develop and apply multimodal embedding models that enhance retrieval and personalization.
• Experiment & Iterate: Partner with engineering, analytics, and design to develop hypotheses, run experiments, and measure outcomes to continuously improve search quality.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Align stakeholders across machine learning, engineering, design, and business teams to deliver impactful, data-driven product solutions.

What you'll bring

• 4+ years of product management experience, with a focus on Search relevance and e-commerce.
• You’ve worked with Machine Learning engineers to develop, test, and launch ML-powered products that solve customer problems.
• Familiarity with retrieval systems, ranking algorithms, and LLMs is a plus.
• A track record of planning, directing, and executing product roadmaps that deliver tangible business results.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts and tell a compelling story.
• Strong problem-solving skills, capable of dissecting complex issues and collaborating across different teams to find effective solutions.
• Proficiency in analytical skills, including SQL, to analyze data, identify opportunities, and evaluate feature performance to make informed decisions and trade-offs.
