This role combines work on cutting edge ML technology with a mission-critical effort to harness the power of ML to help people live more positive lives. You will work with the most experienced ML leaders across Pinterest on new technology initiatives across all parts of the business. You will also lead a strategic initiative to craft pinner experiences and recommendations to have measurably healthier pinner outcomes. We want pinners to lead richer, happier lives enabled by Pinterest and we need your experience and creativity to lead the way.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Drive work to tune our ML systems to both drive engagement as well as positive experiences and pinner health. We genuinely want to help pinners lead healthier, happier, inspired lives… and continue to run a successful business while doing so. Your work will help us do this in a measurable, sustainable, and scalable way.
  • Directly partner with our ML innovations team (Applied Science) on new foundational ML investments. You’ll build relationships across Pinterest (ads and organic) to this technology for maximum impact.
  • Build deep, trusting partnerships with teams across Pinterest. You’ll be a valued senior advisor and strategist. 
  • Serve as senior mentor and advisor to other ML PMs on your team and across Pinterest.
  • Build a strong understanding of work in progress across pinterest to help identify opportunities for collaboration and insights that can be leveraged elsewhere to benefit Pinterest all-up.

What we’re looking for:

  • Seasoned PM with 5+ years working on complex ML problems at scale coupled with prior PM, engineering or data scientist experience.
  • Technical savvy with a strong foundational understanding of ML fundamentals and a willingness to learn as new technologies are invented/announced/explored. 
  • Partnerships-oriented leader who can build relationships and trust across teams.
  • Clear communicator who can navigate both detail-oriented technical teams as well as big picture executive contexts.
  • Our PinFlex future of work philosophy requires this role to visit a Pinterest office for collaboration approximately 1x per quarter. For employees not located within a commutable distance from this in-office touchpoint, Pinterest will cover T&E. Learn more about PinFlex here.

Final salary is based on a number of factors including location, travel, relevant prior experience, or particular skills and expertise.
