Product Manager - Integrations

AI overview

Lead the API Integrations & Partnerships strategy to build a developer-friendly integration ecosystem that connects merchants with e-commerce platforms and payment service providers across Europe.

We are looking for a Product Manager to lead Alma’s API Integrations & Partnerships domain and help build the most seamless and scalable merchant and partner integration experiences in Europe.

About Alma

At Alma, we're reinventing finance to serve those who matter the most: merchants and consumers. Our installment and deferred payment solutions help merchants boost sales by up to 20%, increase customer loyalty, and deliver a seamless shopping experience — all without encouraging debt. As the BNPL leader in France and active in 10 European countries, we've empowered over 21,000 merchants and 8 million consumers. With a team of 340+ Almakers and a €115M Series C funding round, Alma is rapidly scaling across Europe — and this is just the beginning.

Your mission

As Product Manager in the API & Integrations squad, you will own Alma’s integration ecosystem and API-as-a-product vision, transforming Alma’s API from a technical interface into a world-class developer and merchant product. ****

  • Your mission is to build a robust integration marketplace connecting merchants with e-commerce platforms, PSPs (Stripe, Adyen, etc.), payment orchestrators, and strategic partners across two key dimensions: technical capabilities (APIs, SDKs, platform integrations, pre-built solutions) and partnership needs (PSP capabilities, in-store integrations, co-developed solutions).
  • Working closely with a squad of engineers and a product designer, you will expand API capabilities and define integration patterns powering Alma across Europe. You'll build pre-packaged integrations for leading e-commerce platforms and partners while shaping the end-to-end merchant and developer experience—from onboarding to first transaction, and beyond.

Through deep understanding of merchant and partner technical needs, integration patterns, and API best practices, you'll deliver solutions that are scalable, reliable, and commercially valuable. You will ensure Alma becomes the most developer-friendly, partner-ready payment solution in Europe, supporting thousands of merchants and millions of transactions.

Main responsibilities

  • Define and execute the Integrations & Partnerships strategy and roadmap, aligning API, SDK, and platform evolution with merchant adoption, transaction growth, and partner needs (PSPs, EPTs, and other strategic partners).
  • Lead continuous product discovery through merchant and partner interviews, developer feedback, analytics, and market research to identify friction points and new integration opportunities.
  • Drive end-to-end delivery of complex API, SDK, and platform integration features, collaborating closely with engineering to manage technical constraints and backward compatibility.
  • Lead technical and functional discussions with merchants and partners to evaluate features, integrations, and ecosystem partnership opportunities.
  • Own integration metrics and developer experience, tracking adoption, time-to-first-payment, API reliability, plugin version compatibility, and platform coverage.
  • Develop deep expertise in API design, developer experience, and payment ecosystems, staying ahead of integration patterns and industry standards to guide product direction.
  • Collaborate with other squads (Core Banking, Risk Management, Merchant Lifecycle, etc.) to drive transversal initiatives that maximize integration impact.

Your skills

Hard skills

  • Knowledge of modern product practices (discovery, design thinking, delivery, etc.).
  • Experience leading API products or integration platforms with measurable adoption and business impact.
  • Deep understanding of API design and integration principles (REST, GraphQL, webhooks, authentication methods such as OAuth/API keys).
  • Experience with payment APIs, fintech integrations, and complex payment ecosystems, including merchants, partners, and PSPs (Stripe, Adyen, etc.).
  • Skilled in managing complex integration ecosystems with multiple partners, platforms, and technical requirements.
  • Strong analytical mindset with comfort working with data and metrics (SQL proficiency is a plus).

Soft skills

  • Strategic thinking with ability to balance short-term technical improvements with long-term business vision.
  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to synthesise complexity and engage with both technical and non technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving orientation with comfort navigating technical constraints and regulatory requirements.
  • Leadership presence to drive consensus among various stakeholders (risk, compliance, finance, operations) and push forward ambitious payment initiatives across the organisation.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with evolving payment technologies and market demands.

What would make you a good fit for this job?

  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Manager, with significant exposure to API products, developer tools, or integration platforms.
  • Experience in payments, e-commerce platforms, or SaaS integration products is a must.
  • Proven track record delivering successful API products or integration ecosystems with measurable developer adoption and business impact.
  • Proven capability to influence partners, negotiate priorities, and steer high-stakes roadmaps.
  • Background working with payment service providers & orchestrators, payment APIs, e-commerce integrations, or marketplace/partner ecosystems is highly valued.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with engineering and stakeholder teams, including Partnerships, Sales, Account Management, Compliance, and Security to deliver scalable and reliable API and integration solutions.

At Alma, we are convinced that trade must be well balanced to be sustainable. Because finance has a key role in business, our mission is to put it back in its rightful place : at the service of merchants and consumers! That’s why we create financial products that empower merchants to sell more, and help consumers purchase better products while never encouraging them to get over-indebted. Our tech solutions are accessible to all, easy to implement, and that eliminate purchase friction. For merchants, our instalment and deferred payment solutions are excellent ways of increasing customers' loyalty and satisfaction, as well as generating up to 20% extra sales revenues without any risk. For consumers, the purchase experience is enhanced (4.8/5 on Trustpilot) and Alma helps them handle their budget easily. They pay later, Alma pays the merchants right away. We are the leader in France and are on track to win the European market on the (very) powerful Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) industry, as we’re now processing payments in 10 European countries. Over the past 5 years, more than 16 000 merchants have chosen Alma to be their innovative BNPL solution, and we have served over 5 million consumers. The team has grown from 2 to 300+ people, we raised a €115M series C early 2022 to help us accelerate further and Alma is already part of the French Tech 120 ranking of the most promising French technology companies. And that's only the beginning.
