Product Manager - Hire Purchase

Adenta Municipality , Ghana
full-time Hybrid

TLDR

Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle of the Hire Purchase product line, driving customer journey optimization and product growth in a tech-enabled environment.

Renmo is seeking a Product Manager to own and scale our Hire Purchase product line (e.g., electronics and other essential items financed and repaid monthly). You will lead the end-to-end product lifecycle—customer journey, pricing, vendor/merchant enablement, risk alignment, and digital delivery (app/web)—to grow financing volumes while protecting portfolio quality and improving customer experience.

1) Product Strategy & Roadmap
Own the Hire Purchase product vision, roadmap, and quarterly delivery plan.
Define customer segments (salary workers, EVP partners, retail, controllers, etc.) and tailor product propositions per segment.
Translate business goals into product requirements and prioritize based on impact, effort, and risk.

2) Customer Experience & Journey Design
Map and optimize the full journey: discovery → application → credit decision → vendor fulfilment → repayments → after-sales support.
Improve onboarding clarity, affordability checks, and repayment transparency.
Run customer research, interviews, surveys, and usability tests to inform improvements.

3) Product Delivery & Execution
Write user stories, manage backlog, and work with Engineering/Design/QA to ship features on time.
Coordinate internal teams (Sales, Risk, Ops, Recovery, Finance, Customer Service) to deliver a smooth operational flow.
Set up product documentation, SOPs, and training guides for internal teams and vendors.

4) Vendor/Merchant Enablement
Build scalable merchant onboarding and catalogue management processes.
Define SLAs for pricing, delivery timelines, returns, warranties, and dispute resolution.
Support partnership models (commissions, rebates, bulk procurement options) working with Business Development.

5) Pricing & Risk Collaboration
Co-design product rules with Risk: eligibility, limits, repayment plans, premium rates, and early settlement rules.
Monitor portfolio health (delinquency trends, approvals, fraud signals) and propose risk controls without killing conversion.
Ensure the product aligns with regulatory and compliance standards relevant to lending/consumer finance.

6) Analytics, Growth & Continuous Improvement
Track performance using dashboards and analytics; run experiments (A/B tests) to improve conversion and repayment outcomes.
Identify bottlenecks (drop-offs, TAT delays, fulfilment issues) and drive measurable fixes.
Own feedback loops from customer service and recovery teams and convert insights into product updates.

  • Tertiary graduate (Bachelor’s degree minimum) in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or related field.
  • 2+ years experience in Product Management, Product Operations, Business Analysis, or Project Management in a tech-enabled business.
  • Proven experience managing digital products (mobile/web), including writing requirements and working with dev teams.
  • Strong analytical ability: comfortable using data to make decisions (Excel/Google Sheets; BI tools are a plus).
  • Strong stakeholder management skills—able to align Sales, Ops, Credit/Risk, Engineering, and vendors.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience managing a SaaS product, Fintech, Lending, BNPL, or FMCG environment.
  • Knowledge of credit underwriting, repayment collections, or consumer financing operations.
  • Experience building merchant/vendor networks and fulfilment workflows.
  • Familiarity with tools like Jira/Trello, Notion/Confluence, GA4/Mixpanel, Looker/Power BI.
