AI overview

Own and enhance our core data systems, ensuring data integrity and scalability while collaborating closely with engineering leads to support our evolving data infrastructure.
At Warner Music Group, we’re a global collective of music makers and music lovers, tech innovators and inspired entrepreneurs, game-changing creatives and passionate team members. Here, we turn dreams into stardom and audiences into fans. We are guided by three core values that underpin everything we do across all our diverse businesses:    • Curiosity: We do our best work when we’re immersing ourselves in culture and breaking through barriers. Curiosity is the driving force behind creativity and ingenuity. It fuels innovation, and innovation is the key to our future.  • Collaboration: Making music and bringing it to the world is all about the power of originality amplified by teamwork. A great idea, like a great song, travels globally. We ignite passions and build connections across our diverse community of artists, songwriters, partners, and fans. • Commitment: We pursue excellence for our team and our talent. Everything in music starts with a leap into the unknown, and we’re committed to keeping the faith, acting with integrity, and delivering on our promises. Technology is one of the most important parts of our business. Whether it’s supporting our songwriters, ensuring we provide the right royalty data to global partners, or helping our creative teams use the latest AI tools to discover new talent—technology plays an invaluable role in our success. Product Managers help turn vision into reality. WMG is home to a wide range of artists, musicians, and songwriters that fuel our success. That is why we are committed to creating a work environment that actively values, appreciates, and respects everyone. We encourage applications from people with a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences. Consider a career at WMG and get the best of both worlds – an innovative global music company that retains the creative spirit of a nimble independent. We are looking for a Product Manager, Core Data Systems. Data is the lifeblood of the music industry. We manage millions of songs, artists, and the complex contracts that link them. We’re looking for a deeply technical, data-savvy Product Manager to own our core operational data - the "system of record" that powers our business. You’ll ensure our data infrastructure is robust and scalable, and our data is highly accurate, managing the delicate balance between complex technical architecture and the real-world needs of our business and artists. And you’ll partner closely with engineering leads to map out the evolution of that infrastructure. What you’ll do:
  • Data Architecture Strategy: Define the long-term vision for our "Source of Truth." You will lead the roadmap for our foundational data systems, balancing the immediate need for new features, new metadata fields, and continuous improvement of data quality with the long-term necessity of a scalable, intentional architecture.
  • Define Data Contracts: Act as the bridge between different engineering teams. You will define the contracts and integrations between systems—ensuring that when a piece of data moves from one platform to another, it retains its integrity, accuracy, and business meaning.
  • Execution & System Ownership: Serve as the primary author of technical PRDs. Drive data-heavy projects and development from initial data modeling through to technical delivery.
  • Data Integrity & Audit Assurance: Own the quality of our most sensitive data. You will architect solutions that ensure royalty data and rights contracts are audit-ready, mitigating risks around financial delays and ensuring the guardrails are in place for artist livelihoods.
  • Managing Technical Debt: Proactively identify where our data foundations are brittle. You will make the difficult prioritization calls between shipping new features and "fixing the plumbing," ensuring our core systems remain performant as the volume of music data grows.
  • Cross-Functional Evangelism: Serve as the face of data for the business. You will communicate complex technical changes to non-technical stakeholders (including the central data steering committee), ensure alignment on data principles, and explain the why behind architectural shifts and how they unlock future business value.
  • Who you are:
  • Experienced: You have at least 5 years of product management experience, ideally with exposure to digital media, data systems, or complex financial/rights systems.
  • Savvy & Passionate: You can discuss system architecture and data models with engineers and business constraints with executives, mitigating Value, Usability, Feasibility, and Business Viability risks upfront. You’re a strong advocate for data teams and for data as a product.
  • Systems Thinker: You enjoy mapping out complex dependencies and can visualize how a change in one system will cascade through the rest of the ecosystem.
  • A Master Storyteller: You own the "Why" and can easily adjust your communication style for different audiences, from developers to more senior stakeholders.
  • Biased to Action & Impact: You have a proven ability to unstick a team, make difficult prioritization decisions, and navigate the ambiguity of a global business in order to deliver a continual stream of value.
  • Humble Leader: You have strong opinions, held weakly; you are quick to share credit with your team and accept responsibility when things don’t go as planned.
  • Mission-Driven: You are a music fan motivated by the fact that your work directly impacts an artist’s ability to grow their career and get paid.
  • As the home to 10K Projects, Asylum, Atlantic Music Group, East West, FFRR, Fueled by Ramen, Nonesuch, Parlophone, Rhino, Roadrunner, Sire, Warner Records, Warner Classics, and several other of the world’s premier recording labels, Warner Music Group champions emerging artists and global superstars alike. And our renowned publishing company, Warner Chappell Music, represents genre-spanning songwriters and producers through a catalog of more than one million copyrights worldwide. Warner Music Group is also home to ADA, which supports the independent community, as well as artist services division WMX. In addition, WMG counts film and television storytelling powerhouse Warner Music Entertainment among its many brands.
