Waymo’s Product Management Team is a mission-driven team responsible for writing and enacting first-of-their-kind playbooks to bring fully autonomous driving technology to market. Our team develops simple solutions for complex problems by orchestrating cross-functional efforts to safely drive Waymo’s technology and the products it enables forward. We do this by understanding the customer, the business, and the technology. We are humble about the scope of our work, collaborative in our approach to problem-solving, and ambitious about our vision for the future. 

This role follows a hybrid work schedule and reports to the Manager of Product Management.

You will:

  • Own the roadmap for integrating base vehicle software features to further streamline Waymo’s operational workflows
  • Be responsible for translating security, safety, and operational requirements into product launches that continue to improve Waymo’s operational efficiency as we bring new platforms into our growing mixed fleet
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations to develop clear timelines, launch, and land features with minimal operational disruptions
  • Collaborate with operations to design operational workflows that meet key base vehicle and SDS requirements
  • Ensure future vehicle platforms are designed with operational workflows in mind (cleaning, charging, data offload, etc.)

You have:

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience
  • An engineering degree, preferably in computer science, electrical engineering, or related fields
  • Ability to translate company-level objectives to team-level priorities, and build a product roadmap to achieve those outcomes
  • An effective mix of product development skills, including translating ambiguous requests into clear product and engineering requirements, analytical skills, organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely at the appropriate level of detail to audiences ranging from executives to engineers
  • The ability to thrive in an environment with open-ended problems and ambiguous requirements
  • Experience working with a variety of engineering disciplines, including software engineering, embedded systems engineering, and systems engineering
  • Experience working with operations on long term planning projects

We prefer: 

  • Direct experience working at an OEM on software features
  • Experience working on products with cybersecurity requirements
  • Experience working on projects with inter-company, cross-timezone collaboration

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to monthly visits to cities in which Waymo has ongoing operations
  • Up to quarterly travel to meet vehicle / OEM partners
  • Willingness to flex schedule to meet with partners across time zones as necessary

 

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.
