The role and the team

We are looking for an Engineering Lead to establish and guide a new team, Product Infra, focused on improving infrastructure for our desktop products. This role ensures that our customization, dependency management, deployment, and test infrastructures are streamlined, maintainable, and built to scale.

You will collaborate closely with DevOps team (responsible for cloud environments and pipelines) and Quality Assurance team (responsible for product delivery) while focusing on product-specific infrastructure improvements. This includes refactoring our platform customization and deployment architecture to support a growing number of platform customers. The team also drives improvements to our build architecture, dependency management, and test infrastructure.

Our team size is typically 5–8 people, and you can work from Espoo or Tampere.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor the Product Infra team through regular 1:1s, focusing on wellbeing and professional growth.

Drive improvements in:
  • Product customization and variation for our desktop products
  • Product deployment - improve product distribution, software update mechanism
  • Desktop application build system – improve build speed, modularity and reliability
  • Dependency management - maintain up-to-date and well-organized dependencies, and enable Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) reporting
  • Test infrastructure - improve our custom test infrastructure for the 3D simulation platform

Collaborate with other teams on cross-functional dependencies (e.g., DevOps, Quality Assurance).

Facilitate team decision-making and maintain momentum toward shared goals.

Provide technical and quality oversight, including design reviews and testing strategies.

Champion continuous improvement in process, tooling, and product quality.

Coding is not the primary focus of this role (approx. 70% leadership, 30% coding).

Tech stack:
  • Languages: .NET (C#) and C++
  • Build & Deployment: Azure DevOps Pipelines, .NET solutions & projects, nuget and vcpkg
  • Tools: Windows, Visual Studio and Advanced Installer
